Re: Bottle and Cork in Dewey Beach

I have convinced my friend at work (a GBS virgin) to go with me.  I hope to be able to take off that Thursday and Friday so we can spend some time walking the boardwalk before the show (who knows who you will meet up with).  And the best part about my friend going?  Her parents live in Dewey. Big Smile

I am hoping to get to the Altamont show in September as well because they will be there on a Saturday (and Carbon Leaf will be there Friday).  Been since March that I saw "the boys" in AC and I am really jonesing to go!  Any idea how to get back-stage passes?  LOL Umbrella

Yeah, the Bottle and Cork was "legendary" back in 1982 when I started at the U of De - and to see the b'ys there is just too cool!  Kinda' "full circle" in my life!  I'll be coming back east for a mini-reunion with some old friends and some new!  See you at the show?

What part of De are you in? (or elsewhere in the DelMarVa ?)

    *bump*

This show will be here in a month's time already!

And I was just thinking, unless the B&C has gotten WAY bigger than it used to be, this is going to be much like the Secret Shows - a fairly small Pub setting.  Which, from my Van SS experience, should prove to be a GREAT show!

    Re: Finally coming to Delaware

I am getting psyched - the show is only 10 days away!

I got my air travel booked last week, so now it is becoming a reality!

I just went to the B&C website and it looks about the same as it was 2 decades ago! And the show isn't sold out yet!

Tix are still available - so anyone on the Mid-Atlantic east coast, jonesing for a show, this is your opportunity!  I am looking forward to seeing everyone!

    Re: Finally coming to Delaware

Leaving in a couple hours to pick my friend up then head down to the beach.  I am SOOOOO excited!  Gonna hit the outlets first in Rehobeth then head to Dewey.  I have driven past the B&C many times on my way to Ocean City, but have never been in.  I know it does not look very big, so it should be very "intimate".  Best kind of show.

    Re: Finally coming to Delaware

Diane, Shannon and I arrived in Dewey!  Our hotel is only 4 blocks from the Venue, and 1/2 block from the beach

We're off to say "hello" to the Great Big Atlantic Ocean and then getting cleaned up and going to say "hello" to Great Big Sea!

I like the sound of another "intimate" show - dasweinerdog! You're right - the B&C is a small venue - capacity is probably less than 200!  Apparently the place was built in the 1930's!

Nothing like getting intimate with Great Big Sea! Big Smile
