    Hello from North Germany

    Hi,

I am a 38 year old GBS fan from the north of Germany and I'm living closed to Luebeck.
First: I have to apologize for my awful english. I understand more than I can write or talk embarrased

I was introduced to GBS by Bruce Guthro. He told something about GBS in an interview at Danish radio.

Sadly I have never seen the lads von GBS live at concert. I missed them at Loch Ness (Scotland) and I missed the opportunity to hear and see them at Tonder Festival (Denmark) last year. So I hope they will play at Tonder Festival this year. Does anybody know something about this???

I hope hearing something about this.

    Cheers ...

    Cheers

    Re: Hello from North Germany

    Hi Sona!

I always get excited when somebody from Europe pops up here ... and now it's even Germany!

Welcome to the OKP! It's a great place to hang around!

I as well came in touch with GBS through Bruce after he applied as the new Runig frontman. What can I say? They won me over right away. I saw Bruce solo a couple of times now (fist time was on his first tour in Denmark btw) - and I will see him again in tree weeks Smiles kind of "around my house" in Wuppertal. Last year I managed to see GBS live for the first time (after beeing a fan for more than 6 years) in London. Worthwhile every single kilometer travelling!

Unfortunately I don't now anything about their appearance in Tonder but I'm hoping for this as well. Actually I've never been to the Tonder Festival, but I heared it's always great! Have you ever been there? It's not too far away from where you live, right? I've been to Lübeck and the Ostsee Area many times and I love it! Great place where you live!

Hope to see you here again soon!

    Cheers ... Christina

    Re: Hello from North Germany

I thnk Tonder is out for this year Sona, but I may be wrong. You never know! They love Tonder, though and I am sure they'll be back there at some point in the not-too-distant future. Bruce Guthro is something else! I love his voice. I would pay to hear him read the phone book, I think! LOL! Obviously, you've heard Runrig. Good group! I saw them when they came to New York City a couple years ago.

    Welcome to the OKP!

    Anne

and your English is wonderful - much better than any attempt at German I might make!

    Welcome Aboard, Sona!

It is always great to see more fans from Europe!  The more fans from overseas, the better the chances are....Fingers crossed for a Tour over there this year, as well as a US/Canada Tour!!!!

Be sure to sign up for the GBS mailing list so you'll get an email as soon as any new Tour dates are officially announced....but check here often too, for dates we find...before they are officially announced!!!

    Cheers!

    Re: Hello from North Germany

Thank you for your warm welcome!

@ Christina: Tonder is 3,5 hours away (travelling by car). And yes I am a big Runrig fan, too. I'll see them in Hamburg this year (and I hope in Tonder). I have seen Bruce in Hamburg (his first Solo Concert in Germany!) and I am going to see him at Potsdam next month.

Thank's for the info about the mailing list. I signed up 4 weeks ago and I'm still waiting for an date in Europe not so fare away from my home! PLEASE!!!!

    Cheers ... Katrin

Hi Katrin ... stick around, make yourself at home in the OKP! I hope to hear from you once in a while, we apparently have a few things in common winked

Listening to Runrig a lot? Ah, then I have an idea where your boardname comes from!  We might well meet at some concert in the future, don't you think?

    Stay tuned ... Christina

    Hi Katrin,

sorry I'm late ... but "welcome to the board" as well from me.

I'm from Germany as well, the same area Christina lives here. We know each other through this board and met several times to chat about GBS and music generally.

My sister introduced me to them and their music and I loved GBS from the first song.  Can't wait to hear the new stuff and get the new CD !

Make yourself a home here and come in more often ...

    Cheers

    Kati

    Re: Hello from North Germany

Oooh great more people from Germany... :) I remember the times 3 yrs ago when there were none here. Was quite active back then but the dropped off the radar for a while. Am back now for good though. ;)

I'm from Dortmund... So some of you live not that far from me. Have seen Runrig and Bruce Guthro couple of times here in Dortmund and at the Tonder Festival.

Any of you going to Tonder this year? I'm planning, too. :)
