Hi everybody.  GBS is coming to Wolf Trap in Vienna, Virginia (DC suburb) on Friday, August 22 - 7:30PM.  They are playing with "Eddie From Ohio," but I'm almost certain GBS is the headliner.  Schweet!!!!!!!!!  Great venue to see a show.

I'm a member of Wolf Trap so got an early notice of the show and the right to order pre-public sale tickets.  I'm hoping (praying) for Pit tickets, but probably won't get them.  Not sure when the public sale starts but will check on that and write back.

 So nice to have something to look forward to on this icy, dreary winter night.

Sweet! I wonder if their tour will move north or south? My birthday is Aug 28th,and it'd be awesome to see them as close to my birthday as possible!

Last time they played Wolf Trap with Eddie from Ohio, GBS was the opener. Maybe they have enough fans now. * sigh* I will not be there.

Wow, I'm hoping GBS is the headliner.  No matter really because I like Eddie from Ohio too.  Sorry you won't be there, but Newfoundland - awesome!  My husband and I would love to go there some day.  The pictures on your site are so inviting.

I'm goin' Straight to Hell-On-Wheels!

Does anyone know if GBS.com gets all the orchestra A-L seats?  I was thinking of purchasing my tickets from Wolf Trap, so that I could choose my seats (I'd like to get in the center section, even if a bit further back, because I don't like being right in front of the speakers -- I get migraines, and the noise can be a bit much there), but I'd hate to wait and have no chance of getting anywhere closer than row L.  Not that there are any bad seats if you're seeing GBS, but ...

I'm so excited for this show. I saw them when they came to the DC area last year as well, but once just isn't enough! I always like to bring a large group of friends with me but none of them are quite as obssessed as I am...mostly they just like laughing at all of us GBS-heads!

There is a place to enter special requests when you go through the pre-sale -- yours would seem to qualify more than mine of "front row please"  But I  would suggest composing exactly what you want to say beforehand so you don't waste time thinking about it in the pre-sale craze...first come, best seats

So, it looks like GBS is the opener here?  I have never been to Wolf Trap--does anyone have a sense of how long a set they may be able to play?  I will probably go ahead and get the tickets tomorrow, but I am trying to manage my expectations here.

Last time they played Wolftrap, Saw DOcs and GBS co-headlined and did aboiut 1 1/2 hours each. If they are opening, I'd expect 45 minutes of show. It's a beautiful venue and the acoustics are wonderful - getting there is a pain though. But Nancy, it doesn't say that they are the opener. I was just saying that the last time they played with Eddie from Ohio, GBS was opening. I have no idea about this time. Maybe nico knows.

I just called the WT Box office and they told me it was likely a co-headlining situation, with each getting 1 1/2 hours, but GBS would be taking the stage first...actually, if they get equal time on stage, I'm ok with this because it gives me more time to get together with friends after the show....

Anne -- let me give you better directions, because WT is pretty easy to get to...I'll tell you where to park so you don't get stuck in as bad traffic after the show 

 

Thanks guys--I was reacting to the way they showed up on the WT website--Eddie first, with a slightly larger photo.  Co-headlining sounds perfect, especially since we will likely have the kiddo with us.  Count me in!
