This tour date is not on the tour page but there is a presale? Any other tour dates not on the tour page that are for sure, say maybe in Minneapolis, or St. Paul, or anywhere in Minnesota????? Please? Pretty please? Oh and what about Halifax???
Everyone likes to have something to do, can you find the spelling errors in my post?

nicopop:We'll get the tour page updated before the presale and hopefully there will be some more new dates soon.
Hypothetically speaking, if a Halifax date were to be announced soon, I need more than 2 days notice before the presale. I make a small payment to my credit card every month just to keep them happy, but not enough to cover a concert tickets . Goodness knows why, in this electronic age, but it takes a few to several days for a payment I make electronically to show up on my credit card. (another in a long list of reasons why I loathe my credit card company. What's in my wallet? A PI** off, that's what!) 5 days notice would be a nice comfortable cushion for me to shunt some grocery or utility bill money over to my credit card (just this once) so I can get in on the presale. I think I may become a nnoyed if they finally play Hali and I end up in the nosebleeders because I couldn't get in on the presale. And there are already enough nnoyeds in this world.

Sharn, I am in agreement with you. For most of us, we are hard working, just-scraping-by kind of people. 2 days notice isn't always realistic - if it were me wanting to get in on the presale for TO I'd be bumming too. This is the week IN BETWEEN paydays. It is always tight. Some advanced notice would be helpful - especially for everyone who answered the last poll about 2007 - about 40% - who claimed "...but we managed to stay afloat" - I think there are a lot of us in THAT boat.. I am always thrilled to see Tour dtaes pop up, and the promise of more to come....I just hope they coincide with my pay days, or that GBS.com/Sonic Entertainment give us more notice than 48 hours. I do remember Nico saying, back in October, that this would be a fairly typical m.o. in the future. I wonder why? There must be a good reason for it.

I could hypothesize a couple of reasons why such a short window of notification exists, but I'd hate to put them out there and have said guesses misinterpreted as fact. Whatever the reason, I find that it is the norm (at least in the Toronto area) to get a maximum two dates notice on pre-sales, whether it be fan-club or radio promo based (my email inbox gets flooded with them). Sometimes ones that I'm actually interested don't get noticed until after the presale has ended, or I'm just not able to preorder for whatever reason. Oh well. C'est la vie. Usually for an event, I'm just happy to be there. Now of course, if I get sweet seats for a show, well... I've had just as much fun in the cheap seats, but won't turn down something better.

My last GBS concert was way too long ago on July 8,2006. So yes, I am thrilled to see the news about the Toronto concert pre-sale. But I am NOT impressed with finding out about the pre-sale when I finally had a chance to go online and check email at 10:30pm on Tuesday Feb 12. Now I have exactly ONE day (minus my Feb 13th work hours of 6am to noon & an afternoon Dr's appt ) to try to contact my friends & relatives to find out ASAP who else wants tickets. And guess what... I have to work from 11am to 5pm on Feb 14th, so I can't order pre-sale tickets for myself or family or friends. If I want to book a day off at work, I have to request it THREE weeks in advance, so I am completely out of luck for being at home on my computer to order the pre sale tickets at 11am on Feb 14th. The Toronto show is not even listed on the tour page yet, nor are any other new dates. It used to be that we were given MONTHS of notice about upcoming dates/locations of concerts. And we were given WEEKS of notice re the various ticket pre-sales, which allowed us to plan ahead for scheduling time off work to order tickets. Please don't get me wrong, I'm really glad to see an Ontario concert date appear for 2008, but I feel that 2 days advance notice for pre-sale ticket opportunities is not realistically enough time. If this is indeed going to be the 'method of operation' for the future, I think that we all deserve far more consideration than that. Anyway, good luck to everyone ordering on Feb 14th, and let's keep our fingers crossed for even more tour dates in the near future. For us desperate unfortunate concert-deprived Canadian fans, the GBS drought has been unbearably long ! Cheers, Melanie

it sure is not much notice when tickets seem to be in the $70.00 range. I'll just wait for ticket master - it hurts to say that, but money's money ... I'm just thrilled there is a Canadian date. It's been far too long!! Now, about those other dates... the K Rock Center is Kingston's newest venue - opens on the 23rd. Can't wait to hear GBS is playing there!!!!
be safe, eb

It's sort of compounded problems. First, there's the $70 per ticket, tickets for Canadian shows are already way more expensive that the prices I've seen for US shows, having to add an extra $8 per ticket to get it thru pre-sale becomes even more expensive when purchasing multiple tickets. Then there's the problem for those not living in the vicinity of the concert. Am I willing to risk paying all that money when I can't be sure what'll be going on in my life 5 months from now? 2 Days notice isn't enough to properly mull over the problem. But then, I'm sure there are those who would tell us all if we can't be sure we can readily afford it, we shouldn't be considering it. But where's the fun in that?
