    Slavamon:

Funny about Bob's comments.  I was right near Bob during their Lido deck show (sorry, I still haven't posted my videos yet) and the only time he seemed a bit flustered was when he had to re-string his fiddle between songs.  Not really an outdoor issue I wouldn't think.  Anyway, the other comment regarding his repeated phrase about "regimented" caught my ear.  I was talking to Alan in the deli line the afternoon after their first show in the Carribbean Lounge and asked him if he was enjoying himself so far and if he (they) would do it again.  He said it was great, he just wished they could play more and with other people.  He said it was a little too - think he used the word "regimented" or structured.  In other words I think he (and probably the rest of the boys) wanted more of the Great Big Gaelic Leaf type of jam thing the rest of the time.  Otherwise, I think they had a great time judging by how visible they all were during their spare time on the cruise.

Well that's encouraging anyways... we're going regardless since we're heading down with friends, but it would be a disappointment not to have the boys aboard... although I wonder since Gaelic Storm and Carbon leaf are now on the rock boat if that may disuade the b'ys from comin aboard S&D.

Arghhh.  would sure like to know and hear some news one way or another!

Ok I just uploaded a new Great Big Sea video:

Consequence Free ( shot during the Ships And Dip III cruise )

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HGKNdWTX_Qg

I'll leave it up for the weekend, and then remove it and re-do it
( logo shows up over Alan's head, sorry about that )

"The Yellow Plastic Cup" - Sean talking about the mysterious yellow plastic cup:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=McschsYPiyE

A short but close up of Sean while singing the Mermaid song:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ddCLND3eBs

and some other new ones. ( Captain Kidd with very bad sound quality ) ) and some others.

Some of these I've uploaded to my Vimeo.com site, if you like seeing them in HD.  Some are just too large and I have been trouble uploading them.  7 or 8 hours to upload, then a wait to encode them, sometimes it takes a full day before one appears.  Argh.

Great to see. Thanks for sharing!

That was my request - I had asked Alan for it the night before, so I was excited to see it on the set list and to hear it live (it had been a while).

So going tohave to buy a video camera for next time.

    Hi Diane Smile

Glad you enjoyed it.  Sorry for the bad audio quality.  It was really windy that day, as you know,

and of course stupid me, I chose to stand about 4 feet away from the huge speaker on the left side,,, doh.... what the heck was I thinking ? dumb-dumb.  I'll blame it on those drinks the ShantyMan was talking about... yes those drinks in the yellow plastic cup ! LOL ( http://vimeo.com/959699 )

I've still got plenty of videos I haven't posted and will do so as I get the free time to transcode 'n' upload it.

The UK eh,, well at least you know that you are going to a place where some of the best beers
in the world are produced, - that - would make me mighty happy Smile

Unless your favorite brew isn't even sold in the country that produces it! Surprise   Almost three years ago, my hubby and I spent a week in Scotland, and I was very excited at the prospect of getting to drink my favorite ale (McEwan's Scotch Ale which contains 8% alcohol!) in the country where it's brewed.  However, it's only produced for export so you can't buy it anywhere, and the only McEwans I could find was McEwan's Export in CANS - nasty, 'cause I don't like beer in cans!!! furious I don't understand why they'd export their best stuff and serve their crappy stuff at home! Huh?

I buy McEwan's Scotch Ale from time to time, but only in the winter months at the LCBO here in Ontario.

It's a mighty fine winter warmer. The snow falling outside, the fireplace going, yup, and a pint of McEwans will keep you warm.

We are lucky and get it in the bottle here.  Last time I bought it, it was just over $3 a bottle.

Anyone who went on that cruis-ah ! will want the DVD, that's fur shure eh ! Big Smile , it's a great souvenir and I'm sure it will be a great DVD.

Should be fun ! ... talking about the cruis-ah, I'm going to have to edit and post some more GBS footage from the cruise - even now, I still haven't posted many of their songs.  Something to do when the cold weather hits us I guess.

But for the time being, here's a little bit of the boys singing live in Boston back on the 23rd of Oct I think it was.... Image of Sean's brother Glenn was supplied by Glenn and he personally gave me permission to use it.

Re: Ships and Dip cruise - just amazing !

    My pleasure Terri.

Just received the S&DV activity lottery email, so I'm assuming you all have too. Don't forget to enter your choices and remind your cabin mates to do the same. The activities don't really appeal to me this year, but I'm trying for the Trivia, so I can embarrass myself publicly and/or make a mockery of the proceedings devil, and Bingo because it requires little skill.

Sixthman also sent out the theme night info a little while back, assuming everyone got this as well:

Summer Camp Boarding Day - To commemorate Steve and Ed meeting at summer camp, we want to see your best camp gear on boarding day. Wear an old t-shirt from camp, or make your own, but don't forget the tube socks, shorts, swimming trunks, and tennis shoes!

    Revenge of the Nerds Night
    - We're all big nerds here at Sixthman, and we need your help to celebrate our extreme dorkiness. Put some tape on your glasses, pull your pants up to your armpits, and channel your inner Booger. Let's show those Alphas who's boss!

    1988 Prom Formal Night
    - Since BNL has been around since 1988, we're celebrating their prom! Find yourself a powder blue tux, poofy-sleeved dress, or whatever else you wore to the prom and party like it's 1988.

1920's Gangster Night - Everyone can play the villain for this one- wear pinstriped pants and suspenders or a flapper dress, and don't forget to have some bathtub gin!

At first I thought I wouldn't bother with any of them, but I'm getting the itch to be foolish, so I may do all of them. Angel Anyone still have their 1980s prom dress...?

Re: Ships and Dip cruise - just amazing !

Does anyone know how my husband and I can both do the lottery if we only got one e-mail?  I can't remember how it worked last year....

I have a poufy royal blue "prom" dress from 1988 - actually it was a bridesmaid dress, since I went to prom in 1983.  Way back then, our dresses were the prairie Gunne Sax style.  Anyway, even if I wanted to wear the blue dress, it wouldn't fit - bummer too, because I have royal blue shoes dyed to match!  Besides, it would never fit in my luggage.

    Diana:

You should both be able to use the same email and link as the "second page" asks for name and cabin number.

    Cheers!

    Kim

ETA:  Too funny on the bridesmaid dress/matching shoe comment.  I was in 4 weddings one summer in the late 80's - all dresses were "shades" of royal blue, but not exactly the same color.  And since "tea length" dresses were all the rage, you had to have the shoes dyed to match - 4 pairs of varying blue shoes that left a blue ring around my white hosed feet - LOL!!!.  Just got rid of ALL of them a year or so ago.  Too funny.
