    Hey there Caitlyn,

Anyone who had heard their new song live ( "Tonight" ) knows just HOW good those drums are at the beginning of the song... they were just amazing.

P.S.  What's St. Patrick's Day without a little green beer and some GBS playing in the background eh ? Cool

Good thing my husband and I weren't there for that one. We would've collapsed into fits of giggles from which we would not have been able to return because of the carrots. (My daughter used that term for a short period of time to refer to something..um..unvegetable).

Ok... feeling the winter blahhsss... It's supposedly the first day of spring but there's still so much blasted snow up here in Toronto...

So thought I'd fight it off by takin a trip down the Ships & Dip memory lane and post a few pix.

Only 10 more months til the next one and desparately hopin the b'ys will be back on board...

(Here's a couple of my favorite pix from the cruise)

(Ed - Bare Naked Ladies right before the sail away show - Day 1)

GBS Show #2 - Sail away show on the Lido deck

Watching Carbon Leaf on the Lido Deck... can't remember which night now... they all blend together after awhile - lol

Ed (BNL) and Alan singin it up. Now... put me right in the middle of that action and I would die a very happy girl ;o)

Think I could handle bein in the middle of this one too - lol

Me hangin out with Dave the Checkerboard guy...

Up close and personal with Ed (BNL)...

Re: Ships and Dip cruise - just amazing !

LOL, on the Ships And Dip III cruise though, the pens would have read

"Don't Cruise Without The Booze " , haha.

Every night, when we sat out on the Lido deck ( where the outdoor concerts were ) the staff late at night would be cleaning some of the bottles from the day at the 2 bars in that area.  My brother-in-law and myself could not get over the bins and bins and bins of empty beer bottles ( those aluminium cans that look like bottles ) there must have been thousands of them.  Imagine that, and that was only from one area of the ship, I'm sure it would be mind boggling to see just how much booze was served up daily on the ship.  And the stunning thing about it -- I never saw one arguement, not one fight break out.  It shows that everyone on board was there for the love of music, and I guess the average age was a bit higher than what you would find at a bar in Montreal ( 16-18 - 25-30 or so )

oh and let's not forget this........ " you never know what's going to happen on the cruise-ah ! " ( BNL ->Tyler's famous phrase )

Re: Ships and Dip cruise - just amazing !

    Hi bouzouki,

Yeah I'm a bit of a mulimedia junkie, I have to admit that.  I can't wait to get a flat screen setup in the basement in a new bar area I'm thinking of.  Hook that up to a multimedia home theater computer and have lots of music concerts playing on the wall behind the bar.  Great Big Sea and a beer anyone ? Big Smile

Hmm, today is the 25th right ? and the "official / un-official " release date of the new GBS record is the 24th of June ( Saint Jean Baptiste Day ) so that means basically 3 months less a day from today !

Maybe I'll get a tickerfactory thingie and get that running here, that way I won't be asleep at the wheel when the CD comes out.

I wonder where the best place will be to get it on that date, Best Buy ? Futureshop ? prob the best places to get it eh ?

Re: Ships and Dip cruise - just amazing !

i know 3 months is just tooooooooooooooo long! i hope they do too release at least one.

Hey frosty that is truly amazing how much booze some peole had a day. also think how much they would need to take with them. For some peole if the run out(doubt that they would though) it would just be a killer.

But not for anyone here that is!;p
