    Re: SHIPS AND DIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OH WOW!!!  I'm sooo excited, she is so cool!  Will she be bringing fire sticks or anything?  Does she still do that?  Can you imagine her on the lido deck?!!  FUN!  Will you tell her hello from me?  What was her friends name... long dark hair, I'm so bad with names..... computer graphics?  Any news on her?  I'm really  excited, maybe we'll be on the same flight down!

I'm really glad to hear that Josh is doing well, I know it wasn't an easy time.

I hope I get to see some shows before the cruise, but right now I'm grieving the loss of my birthday weekend party.  Ottawa on my birthday, and Toronto the next night.  I need to save my airmiles for the cruise, and I can't afford the flight out since I missed the seat sale.  I have to sell my third row Toronto tickets.  So Sad!  So yes, I hope I get to see something out my way soon!  And I hope to get to see you there!

TOTAL BUMMER. At least there's a cruise on the horizon! I know it's small consolation in June but come January...!  Bounce

I PMed you about your tickets, Krista. Now that the Pollstar listing for GBS in TO June 21st has been confirmed as a private function (so weird that! wha happen...?) I may be able to change my plans and still meet up with a few folks west of here. big smiles

ALEX!!!! That's her name!!!  Does anyone know who I'm talking about?  She lives in Van, is she still on the board?

Sorry, about the tickets and the no fun on my birthday Tina.  Life isn't fair, not even a little bit.

    Re: SHIPS AND DIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL! That's totally cool with me (until you win the cash tonight and have to make a final decision! BWAHAHAHA! Jester)

So disappointing about the Sound Academy show. Why on earth did Pollstar send out notifications for a private function? Odd. Odd. Plans for the NY state shows in September look veeery iffy too. So, it's the Country Rocks pricey mini show and the CRUISE (WOOHOO!!) for me. I always get too wound up before a GBS album release. It's painful! Looking back today on my single, child-free, days with disposable income and feeling just a bit discontent... Smile

On the other hand, Cathie is coming this weekend; there's no rain in the forecast; and there are good times to be had in a music-rich city!

Oh yes, how I look back on those beautiful child free days, *sigh*....  But these days are completely wonderful in a different way, as you know!

Jealous, I want a music rich city in the sun.  I feel very denied right now, but the universe is saying.."This just isn't your time".

Enjoy your weekend, and have a drink for me!

She goes by asterix on this board, but I haven't seen her around here in a while.

By the way - looking forward to seeing some familiar - and new - faces onboard. Hubby and I are booked on deck 10. Yea!

Yeah, Alex is alive and well in Vancouver.  She and Lilly still hang together.  I stayed at her place for a Town Pants show in November.  I've asked her to join us on board, but it may not be financially possible for her.

Kathy - I haven't seen you since Calgary/Banff!  Can't remember if you were in Edmonton that trip, and I'm pretty sure you took off before Red Deer.  That was a memorable string of shows, to be sure... ;-)  It will be great to see you and your darling hubby...although you're going to have to dip that boy in sunscreen every 2 hours...

    Cheers!

    Hi Janeill!

It will be great to see you, too. That trip to Alberta was so much fun. Doug and I picked sightseeing over the Edmonton show and had to go home before Red Deer. But Banff, especially, was spectacular.

Ugh. Sunscreen. I wish there WAS a way to dip him in it. I spend a good portion of my time smearing it on his back and on every visible inch of our two readheaded daughters. I guess we'll have to bring a couple gallons on the cruise.

Speaking of sunscreen... did you see what the temp is supposed to be this weekend?  I don't have a/c... I'm melting in anticipation.... by the time it gets here I'll already be a puddle.  Stick out tongue

    Yea!!

It's a big time happy birthday to me, since my birthday is Feb. 9. And happy Valentine's Day, Christmas, Mother's Day, Easter,  Goundhog Day, etc., etc. It'll be extra expensive because we have to get both kids to Ft. Myers where my parents (the babysitters) live in the winter. So it will be a long time before I'm eligible for any more gifts, but it will be worth it!

Yes, I saw the forecast and I'm not very excited about it. Bring on the popsicles!

Y'all can send some of that excessive heat/humidity/sun/wahtever-ya-got our way! I don't mind braving some Caribbean weather at home... Big Smile

We're in the same boat Kathy, taking the kiddos from NS to ON first, then flying to Miami from there, probably the following day. I'm checking for seat sales already. Jester  To be honest I'd rather just bring them along. If I had the funds I'd bring gramma and the boys along and get a suite with a balcony...but there's a wee disparity between what I'd rather do and what I can afford to do right now. The boys are a bit young to enjoy that type of vacation too. On the other hand, even though I'll worry a bit about them, it'll be fun to be free of parental responsibility for a few days.

Me too, actually.  My parents are covering the actual cruise in lieu of gifts for anything else this year and I'm ecstatic about it!  Sorry to hear about the diversion to Ft. Myers... both for the added expense and because it would have been nice if we could have traveled together... but oh well!

And what good are popsicles if they start to melt before you even get the wrapper off? *LOL*

Tina, you can have the weather!  90/32.... and worse tomorrow!  At least the humidity has dropped to only 50%.

The weather's the same here. I'm so glad that the I.C.U.has air-condition.... the peripheral wards don't...

Can't it be Feb 1st tomorrow? Pleeeeaaaaaase?!

    Re: SHIPS AND DIPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tina - all that extra travel is kind of a bummer, isn't it? But at least we know our kids will be in good hands. Although I'll worry, too. Florida. Swimming pools. Alligators. I'll be bringing doorknob covers to keep the 2-year-old (who will be 3 by then) from escaping during the middle of the night. When my now 7-year-old was 3, she managed to sneak out of the condo, find her way to the elevator and push the "down" button. Luckily we caught up with her before the elevator came.

Kes - nice parents! I imagine I'll be asking mine for beer money for Christmas and my birthday. Which kind of makes me feel like a college student again. Except, back then I wouldn't have said it was going to be spent on beer.
