    Anne's Bowery Ballroom Review

Sorry for the delay. Work and sleep have to happen so I can fund my next GBS excursion. Several pages done so far. Find it at Anne's Philly Fan Site

I love your reviews Anne.  Next best thing to being there!

Question tho-what does it say on the "Hello, my name is..." sticker on Alan's leg?

Sharn, thanks for the question. Now I understand what he meant when he mentioned "I'm in the band." I have no idea what it says, but he was the only one wearing one outwardly. Make it's the Bowery's version of a backstage pass?

I hope to put up several more pages tonight - keep checking. And thanks you guys, for the recognition!

It was like a backstage pass sticker. Alan's fell off early in the show. I tried to tell him it was falling off and he looked at me quizzically. I don't know if maybe he understood and took it off before he lost it altogether. The funny thing is, the opening act, a guy named Reid Genaur, who was so much better than I had been anticipating, was a little bit on the geeky side. He was wearing his, and we were commenting on how goofy it was. Then Alan came out with his on, and suddenly it was the coolest fashion accessory ever.

It's all about how you wear it. Wasn't there talk this summer about having goofy OKP name tags at the concerts, in August? Bet we would have all been wearing them if Alan had worn his first!

Anne. You're reviews & travelogues amaze me. It's as if you recorded the entire event and are sitting at home combing through all the footage as you write. Your details are awesome! It's like being right there with you.

There's a bit more up if you care to check it out. Adn I've uploaded Sean singing General Taylor. I'm waiting for it to be approved before I post it. Try the next few pages of the review!

And I do take notes, however brief. This time less than usual it seems. I always remember more stuff as I edit photos too. And there was Karen to add her comments, also. I love doing the reviews and I'm happy that you enjoy them.

    Re: Anne's Bowery Ballroom Review

Anne, I clicked on to continue to go to "The Horse still lives" and the link didn't work (in case it's not 'cause you just haven't gotten that far).

That photo of Bob does look like an impressionist painting. My camera doesn't like to zoom either. I've always gotten p.o'd, I never realized that there can be some beauty in it.

As for Sean making up songs on the spot, they're often killers. What I wouldn't do for footage of his 'Ode to the Bus Driver' from Freeport this summer. It must exist somewhere, said bus driver recorded most of the show.

Try it now, Fran - I think you'll be pleased. Going to bed now. It's just been an exhausting week!

As marvelous as I knew it would be, Anne. Thank you :)

Just realized I heard less than half of what they said. I will say this for front row - the views are great; the sound, not so much. (Except for OBD.)

Now that Alan has trailblazed, I think we need to find Nick's name tag template and do it. We were actually joking about it on Sunday night. I walked into the bar and GBSeaford was there (and although we live very close to one another and were both at the Hammerstein in April, we had never met.) He had on a GBS shirt, and I went up to him and said something very profound, like, "you OKP?" I think it's a great idea, we would just need to wear them on our legs to be as cool as Alan. winked

    Re: Anne's Bowery Ballroom Review

Whenever I have one of those name tags handed to me (which admittedly, isn't often) I can't resist completing the sentence "Hello, my name is..."  with "Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."  So, at the Halifax show,  if you see someone with that on thier name tag, that'll be me.

    Re: Anne's Bowery Ballroom Review

Thanks Anne.  Great photos and nice group shots, really get the feel of the evening.  Definitely one of my favorite shows ever.  Brought a friend who had never even heard their music before and she is now hooked! Looking forward to a spring/summer tour.
