    Sharn, I love that movie!

I've been able to put a few more pages up tonight. Start here to see from last night's pages or here to start from the beginning.

I do have one thing I had to edit in. I'll put the edit here too, for those who might be interseted in Sean's "Death Song."

Michele from Long Island emailed me to tell me it was not a made-up song but a song by the Flaming Lips. And that Sean acknowledged this at the end of the song when Alan told everyone he made it up.

    Anne,

Thank you for the wonderful review, as always!!!  There's even one teeny, tiny picture of me with a humongous smile on my face, which pretty much says it all.  And, I must confess, I was the one who pointed you out on line to the girls from Vancouver.  I told them your reviews are the best...I hope they read this one.

As always, wonderful to see you.

    Re: Anne's Bowery Ballroom Review

Sorry to have taken out my red pen, Anne, but thanks for being so gracious about it. I would have loved to go on thinking that Sean had made that song up, but since I did catch the effort he made to credit The Flaming Lips, I figured I might as well let you know. I've never heard their music, but when I went to listen to a clip of their song (whose name I already forget) on Amazon.com, it sounded surprisingly like it did when Sean sang it from the stage.

Great, great night. I really liked the two newest songs. That one near the end, which I guess can only be referred to as "Oh Yeah," was so surprising. They totally rocked the house with it. I expected some sort of commentary when it was over, but they went right into Excursion Around the Bay while my head was still spinning. Sounds like that song might be a little hard on Alan's "pipes", though.

Between the fact that I arrived late (just as the opener went on) and then jetted out immediately after the guys left the stage so I could catch my train, and the fact that I was near the back of the room, I didn't get to see any familiar OKPers before or during the show. There's always the next tour, of course.

Thanks so much to everyone for posting their photos. I am a compulsive picture taker at GBS shows, but I was watching from too far back to get any really usable ones. How I wished I had Anne's perspective from up above! At least I knew I could come here to find some good ones!

    Anne,

"Gotta love how Sean plays with the crowd. (those girls he sang to had to be in 7th heaven!)"

another correction:  those girls (myself included) are STILL IN 7th heaven!   winked

I keep on watching your "GT" video, and looking at my hands holding my camera right next to Sean.  It is so awesome to see the show from another perspective.  If I can figure out how to post my video, I will.

Thanks so much Anne.  Your reviews and pictures are always awesome!   I hope you realize just how much I appreciate it, and I'm sure I'm not alone!

Anne you are a genius! I really enjoyed the pictures and the recap! My sons were upset they couldn't go and I called them on my cell during the show so they could here some songs. They got a big kick out of seeing the General Taylor video, and the back of Mommy's head ! Thanks so much !!!

Whenever I have one of those name tags handed to me (which admittedly, isn't often) I can't resist completing the sentence "Hello, my name is..."  with "Inigo Montoya, you killed my father, prepare to die."  So, at the Halifax show,  if you see someone with that on thier name tag, that'll be me.

Omigosh, that's one of the best movies ever, EVER made!!  My husband and I saw that in the theatre in 1987, when it first came out.  He wasn't my husband quite yet (we married at the end of 1987...), but close enough.

Anne, I'm looking forward to a few free minutes to start on your review...I'm quite certain that it's as awesome as all the rest have been.  I want to wait until I REALLY have time to savor the prose and enjoy the pix, so later this weekend I hope I'll be able to dig in!

Speaking of the The Princess Bride... After I watched Anne's General Taylor clip on You Tube, I looked around at what else is there. It's amazing how creative some people get. There's even a clip where someone set Stumbling In to scenes from The Princess Bride.

Wow. Excellent. I've been up front many times and never was treated to a close up like that. Thanks for sharing.

    Re: Anne's Bowery Ballroom Review

Wow, thanks Anne for the excellent review and pictures.  And thank to everyone for their pics and comments on the Bowery show.  We'll see them at Shamrock Fest in DC but have a feeling we're going to have to put up with a lot of aggravation for that show.  Oh well, it'll be worth it.

Glad everyone is liking the review. I finished the written part and just have to load the photos Karen took. Click on this link to go to the place I left off or back to the beginning.

Holy cow, I didn't realize there was more.  Just took a look - so awesome.  Love the commentary - makes you feel like you were there.  I had to LOL on several occasions when reading about the banter back and forth.  Definitely the best band I've ever seen live and I've seen many.

     Cheers!

I second, third and quadruple the praise Anne! Awesome pics and review. Great venue too- makes me want to check it out whenever I make it to NYC. Your students weren't the only squirrelly ones this week Anne! I found myself wishing for a spray can of Ritalin!
