There is no delay due to copyright laws etc. According to Bob, the guy who was organizing this project last year moved on (which happens too often he said) and shortly afterwards the project fell through the cracks. There is no intentional delay or withholding of information. It just fell off the radar.
We were also very curious about what had happened to the open call because shortly after we submitted our design last year we were asked by gbs.com on behalf of the band and mgmt to submit a modification. We did so. We were asked to keep it under our hats because no decisions had been made, so we did. Then, we heard nothing more about it.
Adam mentioned the design open call to Bob while we were on the cruise and Bob was able to enlighten us a bit after he recalled the project himself. A couple weeks ago we were contacted by gbs.com again about our design. As far as I know at least one version of our design will be available online as a web-only exclusive, but everything remains to be finalized. So, I can't say for sure what's happening.
I hope the insight helps. It's all I got! I have no idea how many designs may eventually appear in the online store as a result of the open call. We're pretty excited though. I hope ours comes to fruition.
