Yah good question.

 Well hopefully, if somebody sees their design on a shirt up for sale they can let us all know.  Does having a shirt show up on the website with one of our designs mean that you were one of the "winners " ?

I find it kind of sad that people have to ask about what is going on,  - you would just figure the info would be a little easier flowing from the people who are in the know  , a lot of people here put their heart and soul into designing a logo, so it kind of deflates the whole thing when you don't get any news in such a long time

That's so funny!  I was just digging this thread up today!  I was palnning on sending a note to Nicopo asking about it because, no... we've heard nothing.  And it's been 4 months!  I know it can take some time to make a decisions but sheesh!  Not much a contest if there are never any winners!

The worst part is that so many people worked really HARD on this... and I know it's easier not to win when you see the great ones that did!

so HellOOOOOOOOOOO GBS!!!  Any news?  Any comments?  You loved them all and couldn't choose?  You hated them all and couldn't choose?  SOMEthing?  ANYthing??????

I understand the wait has seemed long, but please know the t-shirt design open call has not been forgotten. At the moment, designs are being reviewed by management, and we hope to have a more definitive answer sometime soon.

Just to clarify, an open call runs differently than a contest. This was a call to all the great designers, who are also Great Big Sea fans, to come up with new GBS t-shirt designs and submit them for consideration.

If the band chooses to use one of the submitted designs, we will contact the designer directly.

I've been wondering what's up too, Nicole, so I sent an email to you a few weeks ago, asking for a brief update like this one. I didn't hear back, so I'm glad to see new information posted. Thank you.

It helps to have 'open call' defined here and to have the two processes distinguished from one another.

I didn't enter the "contest" but what is a "open-call" ? , I've never heard of that before, so perhaps somebody can tell me what the diff is.

 I hope that I'm not the only one that doesn't know the difference LOL ( I feel a bit dopey asking the question, but figured I might as well hehe )

It sounds like the band may or may not use one or more of the designs and the winning designer (if there is one or more than one) will be contacted directly. It's not clear if that means no announcement will ever be made...

I assume the new merch would show up eventually, but there may be no way to know specifically if it was a submitted design unless someone announces it. There was some confusion when the new whale and mermaid T-shirts went on sale after the contest closed. People wondered if those were the winning designs.
