Playing drums is something that never interested me. I think that's about the only instrument I'm not insterested in learning. At least the drum kit never interested me. I like playing timpani and bodhran.

    Re: We Love Kris!

I think I will need a starter kit.  Will be in NS by the weekend, can you believe it?  We're going to look into the KOA for a couple days till we can get into the house.

love the signature lol. I went arount the percussion area of the music school the other day telling everyone to hug a snare drum. Got interesting looks.

here's one drummer line I've heard before,

"save a drum, bang a drummer,"

ps. there's a newish picture ( i haven't seen it yet anyway) of Kris on the bio. pages lol. He looks very...studious.

I had to combine Murray & Kris because I didn't have enough great pictures of either one of them to make separate calendars.

Man, I love Kris tickling the ivorys playing the Charlie Brown theme on the DVD outtakes. He seems like such a great guy.

    That he does. Smile
He could play both parts of the song, but not together. Angel That's adorable!

    Re: We Love Kris!

What I thought was funny was that he is such a good drummer and couldn't get his hands to work together.

My youngest daughter, Karen, used to play piano but hated to practice and often complained about how hard it was. Her older sister, Heather, would tease her about ti. heather could play both flute and alto and tenor sax. It wasn't until Heather went to music camp and they had to take instrument lessons outside their comfort zone (she chose piano) that she had an appreciation of exactly how hard it is to play piano! What other instrument do you have to play ten notes at once? Other instruments play only one note at a time (except chords on a guitar-like instrument).

Even though Kris is always right in front of us, I always have trouble getting a good shot of him.  But lest we forget our drummer, here is the one quasi-blurry shot of Kris from the GBS Christmas show...

    Re: We Love Kris!

kris is awesome... he talked drums, drummers, cymbals, goalies, goalie equipment, and bands with me for God knows how long... cant believe how down to earth he is... anyway the thing i dont like about kris and murray's status is their role in the band.... sure theyre hired musicians, great, but they make GBS so much better than if it were just sean bob and alan... as a drummer, i cant control myself from going nuts and having fun when i play... i have a feeling both kris and murray have been given this backseat role that is hurting the live performances (kind of like photoshopping kris and murray in grayscale so the other 3 stand out more)... GBS is my favorite live band, but id like to see kris and murray talk a little more and joke around with the bys on stage and such...i dont think it would take away from alan as a lead man, sean as a whatever the term would be, or bob as the most talented guy ever.... of course this is my opinion and they have given kris and murray so much freedom musically and for hired musicians, publicity...and actually accomodated kris with a sort of dream setup for a percussionist....

i feel this way because im a drummer obviously, but i dunno id kinda like to see kris and murray come up to the other bys level.... but then again, kris and murray may want/ like to be sort of the 'hired guys'... we love kris and murray, i just wish they werent in this intermediate level of in the band/not 'the band' status...

o please lets not turn this into a controversy, its just my opinion and something i, personally, would love to see as a drummer who wishes he could be the lead guy in a  band

Well, look at it this way. Bob doesn't talk a lot, now, does he? Angel And he plays most of the instruments!

Hey, think of Phil Collins. He's an -awesome- drummer, and sings lead.
