Ok, stupid question I've been mulling over for a few days now. Why does everyone keep refering to looking forward to Ships & Dip 5 when this one was #3?

That's actually a great question. This is how I understand it, but it's all hearsay to me too. The second cruise--the one we just had--was titled III instead of II because BNL joked on the last day of the first cruise that the whole thing was so awesome the second one could only be disappointment and misery by comparison or something like that. So, they decided they were skipping 2 and going straight to 3. So, the second cruise became III. Following suit, the third cruise scheduled for next year, is 5 or "V" -- I'm assuming for the same or similar reasons. I missed the announcement because we left the BNL show early.

If you think WE'RE confused, the Sixthman feedback survey I just filled out calls the next cruise Ships and Dip X -- LOL! ...somebody didn't double check their roman numerals.

 Yes Tina I can't wait!  My only hope is that GBS is on the boat.  I don't think I would go otherwise.  Oh, and I have the crud too.  Lungs, nose, head, sick, yuck.  You probably did get it from me, I was coughing next to you the whole night.  Sorry .  It was nice to meet you though, and maybe someday we'll meet again!

Yep, that was me!

 

Later that night, Alan gave me some advice for getting my voice back, but it didn't work, so my sign the following night said "I still don't have my voice back".  I could talk, and manage to sing along, but forget about screaming/cheering.  Even laughing was a problem...and I STILL don't have my voice back.

I heard it second hand and it had to do with someone requesting Alan to play Boston and St. John's (?) and he said he wouldn't play it unless the fella would sleep sleep with him later... did I get that right guys?

I wasn't a winner of the songpanel, but I did get to sneak in for the last four songs (BNL, Sarah Harmer, Boothby Graffoe) including the accoustic of Boston and St. John's... but he told the guy it didn't mean he was off the hook as they were "still gonna do it later"

Well, I admit it, it was me that was the "leather lungs" that requested "Boston and St Johns" and was teased about it from my OKP buds the rest of the cruise.(How was your hot date?? ect ect) When I saw Alan the last night I told him I was the guy and he said he was sorry and we had a good laugh about it

I have the FULL video of this part of the songwriters' panel. I'm sorry it's taken so long to get things unpacked, posted and reviewed.  There doesn't seem to be much left to say about the cruise  but to echo            WOW!! 

My video is really long.  I'll try to get it posted in the next couple days.

Oh wow, I have to thank you for that, John!  I had no voice left by the SWP and when Alan started asking for requests I began frantically attmepting to send "Boston & St. Johns" via mental telepathy.  When I heard you shout it out, I was so excited.  I guess I must have missed Alan and hit you instead.  It was the only song they hadn't done that I really wanted to hear live. Thanks for taking one for the team!  ;)

 Hi Amicustoall and annaonthemoon!  Nice to see you here.  :)  Anna/Becca - I'm still croaking a bit too.  My voice loss is mostly from the cough (that still won't die!).  And I can't seem to function without ten hours of sleep a night.  So worth it, though.

No problem Celtic.....Its my girlfriend's  and my song and I am so glad he did. Its been a long time since they have done it live,  and I was so happy he did. The songwriters thing was amazing, I am so glad Alan did it.

I just wanted to let you know that you are indeed right.Tyler said "screw II we're going to III" on S&D I.  I don't think there was an actual reason behind calling next year's V, but here's a googlevideo of the announcement:
