From Alan's FTR today: "Bob, Sean, and I just finished another round of demos for the new CD(s). Kris and Murray were in St. John’s for the first round a few weeks back and we hope to have at least one more session before the Summer touring begins in late July. The plan is to have a couple dozen songs ready to record in September/October with hopes of the top tunes making the cut for a release in early 2008. Some tunes that you may have heard in concert, like Straight to Hell and Walk on the Moon remain intact following close inspection under the microscope of the studio. Others have changed in part or in full, so you may have to learn a new chorus or two to sing along at future shows."
So, does this mean that "Hold on for Your Life" has changed? Hmmmm? I am curious as to what has changed...geeze, I just managed to learn the chorus of that in April...now I have to relearn it? Oh well! Happy to have new songs to learn and a new album to look forward to.

I was reading some old Newsletters and I found this gem about figuring out which songs to put on an the Road Rage album. Can't help but think they go through this on every album: On another level, the experience can also be a little painful. While there are lots of highpoints, when listening one unfortunately tends to focus in on mistakes we made. Here is a little excerpt from a recent listening session all four band members attended: Darrell to Sean: That a cappella bit seems a little high... Sean to Alan: You came in early again on that one... Bob to Darrell: The bass is always out of tune on that number... Alan to Bob: There goes the fiddle speeding up again... All four to all four: That’s because you suck... All four to all four: &%$##@**&^%$@%$## (sounds of pummeling, etc)

AnnR - I think what you saw as the "album cover" may have just been a doodle I came up with, taken from Alan's quote that the new album will "Rock Planet Earth" I was just playing around with the idea. I still want to do it in color with a satellite pic of the earth instead. So, Thank You! I'm glad you like it....too bad it isn't the real thing 'tho!

Here's the new and improved "RPE" album cover concept:
Oh, and Ann and Megins, I've got three too...I only was able to do this today because Dad took the kids to town shopping!

Hello! I'm new to this for forum and I just wanted to ask, whether someone could maybe tell me on which podcast I could find the song "Tell Me You Will" since it seems to be quite good according to your descriptions. Thanks very much in advance. Greetings from Germany, Sebastian

Listened to the podcast today and I have to say that I definitely agree with you that Say You Will should be on the next album. It's one of the best tunes I heard from them. It's a shame they didn't put it on the Something Beautiful record. I didn't like "Love" which was according to the podcast the song that made it instead of Say You Will; to tell the truth "Love" one of the very few GBS songs I find rather annoying...well it's not everyones cup of tea, ey?;-) I do hope they will put on some trad tunes as well, as I thought that the mix of Rock/Pop Originals and Folk songs was their strength on the albums. But well that's just my opinion. All the best!
