I've got some coolers in the fridge... I'll stick with orange juice (maybe a little vodka?). Wink

Having me along really won't help you at all. I discovered last summer that I can't handle plane rides the way I used to. Unless you're volunteering to hold my hand and supply unlimited gravol, I really should book a different flight. laugh

    Re: The George Street Café

Huh, the string of obscenities that came out of my mouth last night when I found out about it was CERTAINLY not PG. I don't know really, I haven't seen it yet. The story is I lent my mountain bike to my friend Seth before the NYC transit strike, about a month ago now, so he could get to his job (he's a waiter so depends on tips). I was stranded, but I'm salaried. The strike only lasted 3 days but he continued to use my bike. He texts messages me last night saying he got hit on the bike by a van. Seth's alright, that was biggest concern of course. The bike, however...he tells me "the back wheel is bent"...i.e. the rims now need to be replaced. However it still needs to be taken to the shop and calibrated, to make sure the frame isn't bent. If it's even the tiniest bit deviated, the bike is totalled.

My friend, of course, tells me "well I won't have any money til at least mid-February, so you'll have to wait." Of course! And he gets snarky with me about being pissed about it. HELLO?! Even if he couldn't coordinate getting my damn bike back to me, he shouldn't have continued riding it, and he REALLY shouldn't have been riding it through MAJOR FIVE ROAD INTERSECTION AT NIGHT! Plus I've seen him ride, and he's completely reckless, won'te even wear the helmet! So my scwhanky Schwinn mountain bike is wrecked, God knows when he's going to get it fixed or replaced, and I'm not supposed to be bothered. ARGH!!!!!

I need some major stress relief. Fix a girl up with a pint or 7?

Hmm... I've heard that somewhere before.

    And that too.

*Hugs* You'll make 'er, Bran. *Takes seat behind bar* I rather like it here. I volunteer my bartender services... Screech and Pepsi okay? Smile

    Re: The George Street Café

I'll at least drink all the Guinness. Wink I'll leave the Screech to you, Delaney. Smile Funny what you said...first thing I did last night after I stopped cursing up a storm was write to S. about the situation...figured he'd understand. It's one thing to wreck your own bike...but to have someone else wreck it while riding it recklessly when they shouldn't have been riding period and then not pony up the money for it...grrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Thanks though girls, I appreciate your support. The thing that really rots me is that I was trying to do something nice, and then this happens, and I get kicked in the teeth over being rotted about it to top it off.

I'll take that "stress reliever" now. Heh, I almost went on a little road trip last night, Delaney. BDHG and all.
