Its sorta Sean... the eyes & nose are off, but they're always hard because of the size of the wool strips and the fact that you're stuck to the grid structure of the burlap backing... I figured it comes across in the crazy eyebrows & sideburns though.

I just came across this thread and I was just amazed.  You and your mother are extremely talented!  That rug is a one of a kind and it's a depection of what you see in your mind when you hear the song "The Mermaid".....That is true art and your mothers skills seem flawless.  I am truly in awe of what you created.  Beautiful doesnt begin to describe it.  It's just so unique and special.  Very well done to you both.

Just wanted to post something here! I've been a part of the OKP since february and this was really the thread that made me sign up here! I absolutely love your alls work! I'm actually designing a tattoo inspired by your design. I would pay a fortune for something like that rug! I'd want a blanket like that haha!
