AngelAngelAngelAngelAngelAngelAngel ...was kidding! But, you know me I love real estate. Adam just bought a couple lottery tickets, and I'm already thinking about the properties I could buy.

Since GBS is not the headliner I don't expect Keith Urban fans to move one inch before he hits the stage. I'm a go-big-or-go home type these days with fewer opportunities to see the guys live. Any spot will ROCK, but personally I like to get my hair singed in the footlights! Big Smile You're welcome to come get singed with me and the big Muckenz. Dave, I imagine, is much more protective of his hair...Angel

Dave will not be joining us, I'll be footloose and fancy free that night!

    Re: HALIFAX!!!

Question... for those who are in NS... are you all commuting to the show or will you be staying in town for the show... just thinking that it might be fun to plan some night before girly-stupidity so that we're all acquainted and find each other easily the next day.

    Just a thought.

We're outside town Horatia. Probably staying in town the night of the show but plan to be at home with the kids the night before. Life, however, is subject to change...

Afraid my foolishness will probably have to wait until the day itself. Can definitely suggest itinerary of merry misadventure in the downtown core though.

    Re: HALIFAX!!!

We may be going to an ordination at the Basilica at 10 am the day of.  If so, late night debauchery is out for me.  But as I don't drink, it wouldn't be late night DRUNKEN debauchery, and if we AREN'T going to the Ordination, I will likely be available to play tour guide/DD/keeper of drunken people out of serious trouble.  And even if we DO go to the Ordination, I'd still be up for dinner and some measure of festivities the night before, just not too late into the night.

A meet up of some kind is a must.  What form it takes, well I guess that can be decided at a later date. My vote for dinner is the Old Triangle, and not just because I can eat the chicken wings there (no garlic in the yummy Jack Daniels sauce.mmmmmmm)  It's a great little pub, offering your choice of noise level from where the band is in the front room to you can hear yourself think and still hear the band to quiet enough for conversation with the band as background music, or outside on the patio, weather permitting. It's also walking distance to pretty much everything else.  (but then pretty much all of downtown Halifax is walking distance to pretty much all of downtown Halifax)

YAAAAAAAAAAY!  I haven't seen you in WAY too long!! *hmmmmmm, reminds me of a song....haven't seen you in a long time, since I've been gone.....*

To fly Toronto to Halifax, Sunwing(.ca) has a deal on right now, buy one fare, the second is half price, and the flights are pretty cheap to begin with.  Bring a friend, and depending on when you travel and how long you stay, you could fly for less than $400 each.

(fly)Porter(.ca) has flights for $139 each way and the taxes are cheaper cause you fly out of the island airport instead of pearson.  That ends up being around $430.

Checked out WestJet, no seat sales on.  Didn't even look at Air Canada.

I just realized when checking out those prices, that this concert is the weekend before my Birthday!  Awwwwww, THANKS, GBS, for the AWESOME birthday present!  You guys rawk.

JD sauce sounds really good... love wings!

I booked with Porter. Checked sunwing, they're good for a reason... they make you stick to their sched. I wouldn't have been able to fly out on Sunday (I'm likely moving on Labour Day) so that wouldn't have worked... but otherwise HolyS* the prices were low!

With taxes Porter came to 461 round trip, with taxes Sunwing came to 467... the Labour Day flight was expensive. It'll be a new experience flying out of the island airport. Dad's a little freaked because the plane is so small, but I'm all about the not having to contend with Pearson traffic / bad travel vibes.

asside re: birthdays... if the cruise were 2 days longer it could have been my 30th Birthday Festival, but that would require me to go on the cruise... which sadly won't happen this year

    Re: HALIFAX!!!

I flew Porter last time, loved it, loved it. loved it.  The ferry over to the airport docks right at the very end of Bathurst street.  It's just a 3 minute ferry ride over, the staff are relaxed and friendly and helpful, the lounge is comfortable, with complimentary munchies and soft drinks available.  The planes are smaller, so there's no "middle" seat, only 2 seats on each side of the aisle.  If you fly over a mealtime, they feed you, included, and the food is GOOD.  I had a grilled veggie sammich on a foccia bun that was seriously yummy.  You also get a complimentary drink-like DRINK drink, if you are so inclined.

Here's a pic of my kiddies in the lounge, note the comfly leather chairs and the lack of crazed stressed out crowds of people....
