I was just about to say the same thing! Even though the thread has derailed (but in a great way!) I am still looking into this and why some of you are getting those error messages.

Sorry to end the simpsons thread, very entertaining, but I cant change my avatar. Been trying and checking all night but no go. What am I doing wrong. Normally it says can take up to 10 min but It usually works right away. Now Im like an hour later and still no go.

13 hours and 4 minutes later, still no go. I tried again about an hour ago but It still wont show.

I tried last night and mine changed... I doubt this will help, but I bet the first thing you'll be asked to do is clear your cache, cookies, history et. al. and/or do a "forced refresh" to see if that works. Clearing your history/cookies/cache should be an option under "tools" in your internet browser. CTRL + F5 should be the command for doing a "forced refresh". If that doesn't work, it will help the GBS.com folks help you faster if you include what type of browser you are using...I dunno...It could also be the type of file (jpeg, gif, bitmap etc.)...you could try saving the photo in a different format than it currently is in and see if that fixes the problem...but like I said...I don't know that any of this will help. At least it gives you something to try though whilst you wait for help from GBS.com.

Lyndz, I had the same problem before ... just tried it out again and it worked finally. My problem apparently was the file type (some sort of unusual coding in the jpg) ... I hope you'll be successful, I'd like to see your pumpkin ...
