When your 9 yr old takes up Violin lessons...and the first thing he does is try to play it like Bob!!! Good thing Bob doesn't sound like a pack of tortured cats .... so you tell him to go play his accordion or his whistle instead (until he has more V lessons) ....and when suddenly he makes a break through on the accordion and plays a made-up jig, it brings tears of pride and joy to yor eyes.

or...when your 9 yr old son WANTS to play all these instruments cause he's lsitened to GBS for his whole life!

You know you are a Great Big Sea fan when you and your fiancée seriously consider planning your honey moon as a road trip to see as many GBS shows as possible during their next tour. (Just waiting to see if there are tour dates this summer!!!

 

...you dream of seeing a dance on So You Think You Can Dance done to anything by GBS.  I can really picture a duet to Widow in the Window, Clearest Indication, Fast As I Can, or even Stumbling In (or How Did We Get from Saying...).  Ordinary Day, When I'm Up, and Goin' Up wounld make great group numbers.  Or perhaps an all guys number to Banks of Newfoundland or England.  Has anyone seen choreography done to GBS songs?  (As a dance teacher I am tempted to use one of their songs, but the dancers need maturity for such music.  My 7-year-old students aren't quite there yet.  I would love to see high caliber dancers with their music.)

Had to laugh at this one - I can sooo relate.  Despite the fact that I am scheduled to be in the midst of one of the (reputedly) most brutal clinical runs of my degree program in March, I find myself the owner of tickets to not just the Madison show, but both Chicago shows.  But hey, I rolled those dice for Milwaukee and Bloomington this fall, and made it to Milwaukee (tho I did have to change out of my scrubs in the backseat on the freeway, rofl!).  I figure the odds are, I must be able to make at least one out of three...
