sawyer_finn: gbsgirl:Thank you! Appreciate all the info! Another question: is it particularly deafening up front, or is the sound approximately equal throughout the theatre? And does very front row tend to be too close, or is it the very best? When I go to the opera or symphony I think of row 10 or so as being the best, so you can see and you're not looking up at the performer's feet, but I wonder if maybe it's different at a GBS concert. The front row people certainly look happy on the DVDs! Hmm....On one hand, up close is nice for catching nuances you can't see or hear from farther back--facial expressions, the occassional banter that isn't picked up by the mics, the chance to shout something at the b'ys that they hear and react to...and of course no one's head is blocking your view. *lol* Music wise...it can be louder than being back a few rows (and boy do you feel the vibrations!), so you miss some of the softer nuances of how their instruments and voices mix but not to such a degree that you'd even notice, if that makes sense. And in some cases, you hear lyrics more clearly or in other cases, they sound muffled against the mic. You don't hear much of the crowd behind you though--it's kind of like you are in a bubble between the b'ys and the crowd. Certainly I say it's worth the experience to be up front for a show, but any GBS show is worth the experience no matter where you sit. *lol* That probably doesn't help much in answering your question though. *lol*
Thanks for the info! That does help. I appreciate it.

It is not GBS on March 22 at the Leopard Lounge. It is Chris Trapper. http://www.christrapper.com/tour.html GBS is playing in Madison, WI that night, and tickets are currently being sold for that show. andi:March 22 at the leopard lounge on Maine street.

Nick, You have to look on the Best Seats Sale page. The tour page seems to be messed up. Anne

Thanks a BUNCH Columbine! I'm in for 4 for Warner. We were going to hit the Norfolk show as well until we noticed it was a Monday :( It woulda been great for hubby's birthday but it's kinda not worth 2 days off the job. I know, blasphemy but I just put my deposit on my beach house *happy dance* and gotta save leave.

gbsgirl:I have a related question. Will we be able to pick specific seats at the pre-sale, or does GBS.com just randomly assign seats? This will be my first ever Great Big Sea concert, so I'm not sure precisely how things work.
GBS.com does not randomly assign seats - instead seating is assigned on a first come, first served basis. For assigned seating shows, we usually have the first 10 - 15 rows reserved for GBS.com members, so you're bound to get excellent seats. All you have to do is get to the ticket page at the specified pre-sale open time and get your tickets. We will contact you within the next few weeks with your seating assignment. REMEMBER, if you have any special requests, be sure to post them in the "Comments" section of the checkout page - that's the last step of the purchase process. -Helen

Helen, Is there any way of knowing what sections these tickets are in, for example: for 4/14/07 in NYC, is there any way of knowing whether these are these floor or balcony tickets? Thanks.
