Did I ever tell you all the story about when my son was born?  Stop me if you've heard this before:  My son was born by c-section on Oct 29.  Which meant we were still in the hospital for halloween.  I was severely bummed, as I had feared exactly this, since it meant Mommy wouldn't be home for halloween, and my cause my daughter to resent my son for life.  (thankfully I worried unnecessarily, they're best buds)

ANYway, knowing how much I LOVE halloween, how hard I had worked on my daughter's costume (she was Po, from the Teletubbies, I made her costume out of polar fleece so she'd be nice and warm) and how utterly and completely bummed I was to be missing it all, my husband brought my daughter in, in costume, after she was done trick or treating, and they brought me a jack-o-lantern!  They had done up a small one, attempted to carve a baby face, and lit it with a glow bracelet.  It kept me company on my nightstand until we went home the next day!

My best friend in elementary school was born on halloween... so I guess she messed up her mom's halloween too.

Sharyn - EVERYBODY gets candy on Halloween!  Hardly anyone gets a baby brother!  I loved reading that story.
