    There were plenty of merfolk there
    But her sister snared all of the sailors
    With her fancy seaweed hair

    But she had a short span of attention
    And one day when she was gone
    Penelepe put the moves on
    Now she has that hunky sailor boy Sean

    Every day-ay-ay-ay-ay...

    Columbine, may i share this with the boys? I'm writing her note to them and I wanted to put this on the back of the card. Hope to hear from you soon.

    Sure!  I've sure they've seen many silly takes on their songs, but maybe this is the first one that uses one song to reference another.

    Columbine, Loula asked me to draft a note from Penelope to the guys, and this is what I came up with.

    Hi guys, my name is Penelope, and I'm the mermaid's sister. Just a friendly note to let you know that my dress comes off (as its velcro). Also, my creator, Loula, wants you all to sign me and to let you know that the sharpie won't work on the upper part of me, just the bottom (Alan and Sean should sign the butt). Also, if it wouldn't be too much Sean, could you sing the Mermaid for her tonight, and Alan, she'd REALLY like to hear Belong in Wenatchee.

    Oh, I thought it was a gift.  (Gifts aren't attempts to influence, they're given freely.)  Well, go ahead and use my words if you want, but keep my name off them.  I just ceased to appreciate this project.
