Re: What age is appropriate to put children into music lessons?

I started learning the piano at age 3 1/2yrs old. From there, I became the "Hallet" of my family. I currently play: piano, drums, trumpet, violin, and bodhran. for some reason i never took my musical talents into a studio until 3 years ago. I play a very small part on a CD an old high school friend made. I play tthe piano on 2 of the 13 tracks, and the CD itself never was produced even tho i still have the demo CD to this day.

I started tinkering on the Xylophone when I was 5 years old at school. That went to the recorder, guitar, and then clarinet in high school. I had a gap of quite a few years then joined a pipe band and learned tenor drum Cool Both my schools were highly into music education - oh yes I spent a small period of time in a brass band too but it just wasn't me Hmm

Guess it depends on the child - my brothers were never musical but other family members are Big Smile

It has never helped that I am unable to read music tho, and play by ear confused2
