Wishn4CA: I'm with Alan-rocks...it depends on the venue and how close they are monitoring the show.
The HOB Hollywood was actually checking for cameras and "valet parking" them at the door. I had mine stuffed in the bottom of my purse and convinced the guy it was my blackberry for work (it is a very slim digital) so I was able to sneak it in...once inside, I took loads of pictures -- which was sweet because Russel Crowe showed up -- and no one said anything.
I plan on taking my camera to Chicago and St. John's and take my chance at both venues...all they can do is tell me to put it away or at worse "park" it for me until after the show.
Very true. Keeping my fingers crossed that they'll let us take pictures. I don't like using flash either, it can distract the band on stage, and I don't like to do that to them. They are providing us with entertainment; the least we can do is be courteous and take flash-less shots.
