Since I saw your post I keep researching my brain about all the good memories that I'm lucky enough to have. I can not really think in terms of "achievement" though, but more in terms of a very personal kind of courage, of decisions that turned out to be the right ones, of experience and awareness - which hardly show up in pictures. I'll do my best to find some, that are worth to be shown! But if either I participate here or not, my personal retrospection is already great, 'cause it brings back moments that you normally don't think of in your everyday life. That's exactly, what this song means to me ...

I'm in the same boat as you, christina...it's been a lovely trip down memory lane for me and some family members but  very few pictures convey the depth of personal meaning some of those important life-turning moments...but it's made me see the song in a different light...Whether I'd get a picture in or not, it's going to be a very interesting video and I hope those who's pictures do get in will be willing to share the story behind the photo for us here.

January 20th, 2009...the end of an error

I love the lyrics of this song - it's again one of the encouraging ones that helped me trough rough times in the past. It moved me to tears when I heard it first time. Alan is so convincingly passionate when he performes it on stage.

The only ones of my pictures I can think of, are those with a great nature environments around me, because normally I go to places that you can not reach by car or a comfordable path when I need to make up my mind. Best decisions have been made on a mountain top or at lonesome rocky shores. Maybe I pick some of those - curious if anybody will understand what I'm trying to say ...

I'm really hoping that the video gets posted on the site. I have a feeling most people will not be in a position to see it. I know I have never seen any GBS videos on TV, can't watch CMT 24/7 in the hope (and I hate country music), and have no interest in trying to watch a very poor quality copy on YouTube.

 I have a feeling there will be a lot of people in this position and it would suck to not see it, or have to wait a long time, especially if your photo is picked.

Has anyone else had trouble sending in pics for the video?  When I tried this morning, I received a failure notice that told me the email address didn't exsist, which I made sure was correct. My husband tried as well to send in some of his pictures and he got the same response.

Due to an overwhelming amount of submissions over the weekend, the directors felt they had what they needed and closed the open call early.

Sorry to anyone who hadn't sent their photos in yet. If the thread's been started already, please feel free to share your photos and stories with us OKPers.

Well that explains it.  I had to wait to get permission from someone in one of my photos and then I tried to submit yesterday but it kept bouncing back.  C'est la vie.

This makes me glad that I submitted my pic the day this was announced!  Not that it will get used or anything, but still...

I know that there will be/are a lot of ticked off people over this.  And I don't blame them at all.  A deadline is a deadline, in my opinion.  Sure, they might have enough pictures sooner than they expected but what if somebody has a picture that might be a better fit for the video?  I guess I was labouring under the belief that once the deadline had hit that all of the submitted photos would then be sorted through and the better ones would be chosen for the video.  Or does that just make sense?  Gah...
