Sharneliz: nicopop:We'll get the tour page updated before the presale and hopefully there will be some more new dates soon.
Hypothetically speaking, if a Halifax date were to be announced soon, I need more than 2 days notice before the presale. I make a small payment to my credit card every month just to keep them happy, but not enough to cover a concert tickets . Goodness knows why, in this electronic age, but it takes a few to several days for a payment I make electronically to show up on my credit card. (another in a long list of reasons why I loathe my credit card company. What's in my wallet? A PI** off, that's what!) 5 days notice would be a nice comfortable cushion for me to shunt some grocery or utility bill money over to my credit card (just this once) so I can get in on the presale. I think I may become a nnoyed if they finally play Hali and I end up in the nosebleeders because I couldn't get in on the presale. And there are already enough nnoyeds in this world.
I will be your credit card angel my friend. Now, I hate to break this to you but I've never seen a "best seats" pre-sale for Halifax venues at GBS.com. We usually have to stand in the freezing mid-winter morning outside the venue itself or a Sobeys outlet and pray we don't get locked out as a computer glitch complicates opening sales, with all outlets competing for seats simultaneously. LOL!
As a single bop-about I could do that. Now, with the young saplings in tow, it just isn't gonna happen. But, it'll all work out marvelously. It always does. I'll be very surprised if prices are that high too.

WAIT!!!!! I thought we were trying to make it so that Sharn would be ceremoniously presented with 2 free tickets tot eh Halifax show, where she would sit up on stage with a tiara and scepter looking out over the crowd as she ruled from the stage. Right? Wasn't that the plan? And then she said something about being embarrassed and we all laughed and didn't care and said we would do it any way, I thought that was why we had the big delay, working out the details ya know??? But if that doesn't work out it is good she has a credit card fairy, it sounds like the Halifax ticket thing is a nightmare!
Everyone likes to have something to do, can you find the spelling errors in my post?

2 days is seriously not enough time to figure out who I will mooch off of to get to Toronto 4+ months from now. *sigh* and $70 is too much scratch to just buy a couple tickets and make plans later. (told you guys I'm a concert junkie)

Suess: My husband thinks that would be a) hilarious and b) a brilliant marketing move, as fans in cities all over the continent via for the opportunity to be concert queen in THIER town. I, on the otherhand, would not enjoy that overmuch. I talk a good game about that whole dance like no one's watchiing thing, but if everyone WAS watching, I'd be too self concious to really dance. And I gotta dance at a GBS show. I'd be perfectly content with free third row tickets and back stage passes. (and oh, ok, if I MUST wear a tiara, then so be it) As for the $8/ticket service fee that's come up more than once, does not Ticketbastard also have a ticket fee?? Is it not in the neighbourhood of $8?? I think it's probably six of one and a half dozen of the other-a few more bucks a ticket maybe, for front row or close to it, or a few bucks less and seats further back. The Molson Amphitheatre is a great venue, I really don't think there is a bad seat in the place. We had nosebleeders last time and had a fantastic time. I think I didn't buy my tickets until May, and got the front row of the uncovered section-meaning my kids could jump around and dance and not disturb anyone in front of us, and it was really perfect for them. And last year was so magical for us mostly because of all the other great fans we met up with, the show was almost beside the point! I guess my point is, were I in a position to go to that show, I wouldn't worry too much about it. The Molson Aphitheater is HUGE, a sell out is virtually impossible, and even if you leave it to the last minute, you'll still get tickets.
In the social order, I accept the bottom rung, until the wine is pouring and the Lord commands a song!

I find it hard to believe people are being critical of this. Please remember, they do not even have to do pre-sales. I am sure there are valid reasons they do it this way, and I am sure there will be tickets after the pre-sale. The GBS folks are among the most fan-friendly of any organizations I know. I am sure they will let us know about other shows as soon as they can. Liam

Yup. I agree too. I do understand where people are coming from with the various situations and perspectives represented, but it does come down to choose or choose not. I tend to think people are fantastically bigger than their circumstances as well because I'm just demented that way. :D
Now, is this the place where we request an online pre-sale of some kind for Halifax? I don't care if it's best seats or not. I don't foresee getting into town whenever they go on sale to buy them. If it's the Cohn they will sell out very quickly. Even with two shows.
While I would sit anywhere in the Cohn, the same is not true for me at the arena. I have seen GBS from the nosebleeds there more than once and, all things considered, it just doesn't cut the Grey Poupon. Not to mention there are 'sitters' in that part of the crowd and an usher tried to throw me out for standing up and dancing. Pfft. Pre-sales are a great privilege.

I don't understand the complaining either. Everything about the presales and tour date announcements might not be tailored exactly to suit my needs or go perfectly smoothly, but that doesn't mean I'm not grateful they do it. GBS has played in Canada recently and in Ontario too. Last time I checked, St. John's is in Canada and so is the Grey Cup.

My sister and I got our tickets and confirmation at 11:02, so hopefully we'll have great seats! Our seats in '06 were good, and yes, any seats in the 100 level are good! As for assigned seats...the last 2 shows at the ampitheatre have been assigned seats. The show before that was general admission in the 100 level. We hated the seats at first, and we're still torn. I'm at an age where I really don't want to have get to the venue early to stand in line for hours and then rush in to get a good spot and have to stand there all night so I don't lose that spot. Yes, Canada has had some shows this past year, but nothing like the U.S. got. The Grey Cup was not our cup of tea, so we missed it. So it will be two years since we've seen the boys...quite a dry spell. I'm looking forward to it!
Some people shine like a star in the first moment. Others keep their light hidden until they are ready to show us.
