    Re: Signature images

You can download smileys from smileycentral.com then just copy and paste them in your messages!

Great Big Sea Foam (That's a sea foam colored smiley; it's the best I can do!)

    Re: Signature images

I am now trying to alter my signature and am getting the error message. How do you make it so that when someone clicks on a certain word, they are taken to a website?

    Re: Signature images

I can tell you that, having just been there!  You simply put LINK in square brackets, then the full website address, then /LINK in square brackets again.  That creates a hyperlink to the site.

Anyone can feel free to steal my smilies, by the way! I'll shrink them to an in-post appropriate size later & upload them somewhere they can be got at!

    Re: Signature images

where does the word you want to click on go in there? As if I wanted the words "click here" to take you to my website?

    Re: Signature images

It's just as easy to type your message with the word included (say I wanted to use the word skycam to point to my link) and then drag over it with your mouse.  The little three-link chain above where you're typing will light up.  Click on the little chain link.  A box will pop up.  Paste the link URL into the box.  It'll work just fine like that, but then you can ask it to open the link in a new window when someone clicks on it (instead of taking them off the OKP) and give it a title (that'll show up when someone just puts their mouse on it but doesn't click) if you want, as well.

    Re: Signature images

Oops, sorry!  That's to put a link in a MESSAGE, not in your signature.  Use Teddy's instructions for that.

    Re: Signature images

I just PMed Fran, but thought I'd post the solution here too, in case anyone else is interested.#

Basically, if you want to hyperlink a word to a URL (web addy), you go:

    (LINK=http://www.playaholics.com/play/dwarf_on_a_wharf/) Toss a Dwarf (/LINK)

Pasted as plain text so's you can read it without it actually linking.

Hey, tossing dwarves is a well-known British sport!!!

     Teddy

Edit: bugger, it won't let me paste UBB codes as plain text. Sorry!  Replace round brackets with square ones.

    Re: Signature images

By the way, slightly more post-sized smileys are now available, but you'll have to do the image insert thingy to use them from my webspace:

    Re: Signature images

I'm starting to get really frustrated. All I get is the "pre-sale" error and I don't know if it's cause I'm doing something wrong or it's the site.

This is what I enetered (using "[" instead of "(")

(LINK=http://www.cafepress.com.kaesyeeast) Great Bug Sea (/LINK) What am I doing wrong? Or is it the site?

    Re: Signature images

Ah! That's an easy one - you got the web addy wrong.  You need a forward slash between the .com and the directory:

    http://www.cafepress.com/kaesyeeast

    Try that!

    Re: Signature images

That was just a typo. I tried again and am still getting the error message. Is there supposed to be quotes anywhere?
