    lemme see if this works:

YES!  I've posted a picture on the OKP for the first time, stolen the same pic from HRH Krista's photobucket from TO and moved us to the next page in one fell swoop (after a couple misfires) (I think I've mixed up my weapons somehow)

    Hey, all

I thought it was time I popped in and shared a lovely picture Lynda took at a recent concert (now I can't for the life of me remember which one but in the last couple of days)--anyway, Alan was happy and had just announced that he felt like dancing and he didn't often feel that way.  Good for him!  This picture is just delightful!

    Re: King Alan

Sorry to post, but thought I'd share the lyrics to the new song Alan sang last night at the show in Olympia.

The video (audio only) can be found on Lynda's site

    Here's the lyrics:

    America (Alan Doyle & collaborators)

    We were poor
    But I was satisfied
And I thought that you were too.
    You were pure
    And I was terrified
I wasn't good enough for you.

    When they sailed
    Into the harbour
    I could see it in your eyes;
    Oh, I knew
    that you were dreamin'
    Of leavin' me behind.

    You said, "America is beautiful"
And I sure hope you're right.
If I could see you across the water
I'd say, "America is beautiful tonight." (2x)

    When I met
    That Yankee sailor
He stood tall and shook my hand.
    He took pleasure
    In the moment,
In the measure of a man.

    Then he turned
    And left me standin'
And he asked you out to dance.
    When you met
    That Yankee sailor
    I knew I didn't stand a chance.

    You said, "America is beautiful"
And I sure hope you're right.
If I could see you across the water
I'd say, "America is beautiful tonight."
I'd say, "America is beautiful tonight."

    We were poor
    But I was satisfied
And I thought that you were too.
    You were pure
    And I was terrified
I wasn't good enough for you.

    You said, "America is beautiful"
And I sure hope you're right.
If I could see you across the water
I'd say, "America is beautiful tonight."
I'd say, "America is beautiful tonight."
I'd say, "America is beautiful tonight."

That's EXACTLY how I felt/feel about the new song. It hits like a ton of bricks, and your heart just goes out to him. What a truly lovely song, too beautiful for words.

Alan called the song Yankee Sailor. And yes I felt so special getting to be there hearing it live. It totally took my breath away! Pics from Wenatchee and Edmonds to come!
