    Re: Alan's From The Road!

Next time I find myself in the same room as Alan... please please please someone remind me to hit him very hard.

Subsequent to the introduction of Jesuit Sean / Bob to the book of Great Big Mysteries I had my very first GBD (Great Big Dream). Its not as dirty as you think that would be... Since I'm taking a Religious History course (that I'm struggling with right now) my dream involved sitting down with the Great Big Jesuits and editing my latest paper.

It was soooooo bloody painful. I was actually praying to wake up... which didn't happen. Its the first time that I ever wanted to slap Bob... and because of that painful thought / image Alan must now pay! *j/k*

For having such wicked thoughts I must now email my Ursaline home-girl Sister Therese to do a little spiritual housekeeping.

    ttfn.

I know what you mean... when I saw a fresh post in this thread my heart jumped a little...

I'm also waiting on another soundtrack. I wan't to hear Bob's perspective on his new JayZ cd.

When is Sean gonna get the blogging bug? perhaps a Beagle Blog... Tales of Marley & Tosh?

Mine did too.  I check hopefully every day to see if Alan has posted anything new.  It's been way to long since the last From the Road -- or the Studio.

I'd like to see another soundtrack too.  I love seeing Bob's music recommendations.  And I agree, it would be really cool if Sean started blogging.  Didn't he used to write the old newsletters?  Or am I wrong about that?

Alan and Bob I think used to do the old newsletters

    Beat me to it, Kim!

Alan is back with a new FTR about the BC shows, a neat play about Newfoundland and the Grey Cup!

"Looking forward to a big night in Toronto on Saturday as there should be close to 8,000 revelers at the Grey Cup gig."

    Re: Alan's From The Road!

    ...sooooo Rock and Roll.....Music

So the BC shows had good sound AND good lights (?) he says!  Maybe from ON the stage....from in front...that is another story!  But yes, the shows did have a GREAT vibe.

Too bad about getting turned around over Newfoundland on the way home -  that must have been heartbreaking.  We were all discussing that they might not make it back home as scheduled with that hurricane beating up the east coast.  How frustrating to get so close and then have to get sent back.

As always, it is a treat to hear from Alan again.

Got our first snow here today too!  Has anyone here seen Tempting Providence?  I'd love to see it.

    Re: Alan's From The Road!

I missed out on Grey Cup weekend, but reading Alan's new FTR makes me feel like I was right there with him.

"Months ago I saw the Saturday Grey Cup gig, and the Monday Gilda event penciled in on the calendar.  I also knew that the Grey Cup game would be on the Sunday and a quick glance at the NHL Schedule, showed that the Leafs would host my Habs on the Tuesday.  Four days of sports and laughs spells “Boys Weekend Out” in my Kingdom every time."

Laughed out loud more than a couple of times while reading that one...  shaking my head...  only Alan Doyle.  Angel

    Thanks!

    Re: Alan's From The Road!

Shelved a whole bunch of autobiographies today.  I really hope that Alan writes one some day.

minor nit pick  (uya, hi, have we met?  Of course I have a nitpick!)

Coup.  Coo is what pigeons do.  Coup is the word Alan is looking for, as in Coup D'etat

    "n., pl. coups (kūz).

    1. A brilliantly executed stratagem; a triumph."

    Re: Alan's From The Road!

Sharn... I've got this vision for the GBBiography as a box set complete with accompanying soundtrack (influences, material that didn't make it, best ofs). I think it would be great fun.

    Re: Alan's From The Road!

I'm greedy.  I want the big GBS box set biography, AND an Alan Doyle autobiography.  Please.
