Alan said it in his FTR. It's common knowledge if you read those things.

I whole heartedly concur. Although, 3 is such a wonderful age, when they're really starting to 'get' things and speaking in whole sentences. *sigh* It seems like so long ago, and yet, like it was only yesterday.

Happy belated birthday, Henry! (Tho, for some reason, I thought you were born on the 7th!)

No - that's Ringo Starr. And you wonder how I know these things? I used to be a died-in-the-wool RIngo fan in the 60's.

It was Russell's youngest that was born on the 7th. Only 3 days after Henry. Something tells me those boys will get along good.

He can't possibly be as adorable as Henry. That boy going to start breaking hearts very soon.

If Henry is ANYTHING like his Dad, which I have heard he is, then yes Fran, I believe you are right, and will agree with you there!

Angel well you will notice their names are awfully similar.....

When I have to label their stuff it is K and K2. I am so mean. I number my children.

Ok speaking of said K2. She is my 8 year old. This morning she came out with a Newfoundland shirt on. She was reading and it and said "new.... found...land" I said "thats right, who is from Newfoundland?" She looked at me all sly and says " Alan Doyle of course!"

Smart girl you have there! :)

Here's the blurb about Henry's birth for those who never read it:

''...We dashed from the gig back to the hotel and snuck out a fire escape door onto a roof patio and drank a beer or two as the fireworks danced around the silhouetted high rise buildings of Downtown Calgary.  It was just the five of us.  We chatted and caught up on the happening of the real lives of the guys we share the stage with every night.  Highlight of our stolen few moments was a toast for the newest member of the clan.

Born on the 4th of July.  Henry Thomas Doyle

I guess soon to be born wee ones' don't read tour schedules.  I thought I had a great plan.  Do a few gigs in early July and get home with plenty of time to spare for the arrival of the Prince.  Henry had other ideas.  He could not wait to get started.  At around 2am he decided he was ready and at 2pm on the dot he kicked off what I hope is an amazing life.

I only got to see him for a few hours on Tuesday and Wednesday as I had to get on the plane yesterday morning to fly to Calgary.  It was the hardest trip to the airport ever.

Henry and his star of a Mom are doing well and are at home with a team of helpers.  Thanks for all he well wishes and donations to the Janeway Children's Hospital in St John's.  It means a lot.

I'm sure I'll have a lot more to offer about this blessed event and my newest and biggest hat as Dad, but for now I'll just say this.  No matter how happy you are, having a child instantly makes you 100 times happier.  As soon as the child arrives, you instantly have 100 times more Love to give than you ever imagined possible.' (July 7th, 2006 FTR)

I bet he's still just as proud if not prouder today!

Re: King Alan: All About Alan Doyle

Being a Dad also makes you become well versed in Disney characters and songs, as Alan and Sean both demonstrated at the Seattle show...somehow they got on a tangent about forking and spooning, which let to songs from Beauty and the Beast.

On a completely different note, it is amazing how spending a few hours at a GBS concert (and getting to enjoy the Doyle's smile and hair tossing) improves ones outlook on life!
