    help with SOTW

Greetings ~ I just saw Spirit of the West perform live for the first time at the Toronto concert last week. Just loved them. I want more. A quick check on Amazon.com produced a tidal wave of music over the years. Any suggestions on where to begin?

    Many thanks,

My first SoTW CD was Save This House and it is the one I am most fond of.

If you want to get most of their best stuff all in one package then check out Spirituality, its a 2 disc collection of their 'biggest' songs from over the years. That was the first cd I got of theirs so that I could get familiar with them before the Victoria GBS show in March, and I fell in love with them too :)

We bought Spirituality when they opened for GBS in March. Love the first CD not so keen on the second but, as already mentioned, it is a good idea if you're looking to buy one of their CDs and don't know how to approach it. Recently picked up John Mann's December Looms CD, it's a good buy too.

Here's another vote for Spirituality.  I bought it from itunes and it's a great overview of their music.  Lots of happy, lots of bitter.  I've really enjoyed it.

    Re: help with SOTW

Thanks for the tips everyone! My first impulse was to just get Spirituality but it seemed so big ... just wanted to make sure. This will be a big fat tip to the family for my birthday in a couple weeks. Right there with a new copy of UP that I gave away this summer. (I've been scolded that we lost the Chemical Workers Song in the process. Oops!)

    Cheers,

Hit Parade is a good one. Has most of the songs they played at the show.Including Venice, the crawl and political done with the Vancouver Symphony Orch. And thats Amore.
