Hello from The Green Mountain State, Vermont

I've been a GBS fan since they started, glad to see there is a community for them.

    Julie,

Welcome to the OKP, which has been around nearly since they started too. Come back and post often. Things are a bit slow right now since there are no tours and no new releases, but it should pick up again in August. Stick around!

    Welcome Aboard, Julie

The OKP is on at least its 4th or 5th incarnation...but like Anne said, the message board has been around nearly as long as the band...

Lucky you to have been around since the beginning....its high time you joined the community!  Glad you found us!  Hope to see more of you around here.

    Cheers!

    Helen

Hey Julie ~ Welcome and maybe we'll bump into each other at some point. Whereabouts are you? I'm in Waterbury. I recently was on the PointFM radio station's website where they had some free GBS downloads including the Gallows Pole tune if you don't already have it. I bugged them for more airtime for the band and the station's music director emailed me back telling me just how many hundreds of times they've played tracks from Fortune's Favor in the past year. Seems like they always fill the house when the visit Vt. and NH. We saw them at the Lebanon Opera House last Nov. - it was a really special show in a cool old venue where every seat feels close to the stage. We skipped the Burlington show on Halloween because our kids threatened a mutiny if we skipped trick-or-treating, GBS concert or not. If you're surfing the website, check out Alan's FTR post Nov. 1, I believe, where he writes about his day in Burlington last Halloween.... the mayor declared it GBS Day; Alan was homesick for his little son; went for a run and got lost, ending up on Henry Street (his son is Henry); and then an embarrassing incident on the marketplace. I'll let you find the rest.

We're heading to Toronto for the Aug. 22 show. We may take the train from Montreal, too.

    Cheers,
