    Tin whistle stuff... again

First off, I'm new to the forum and the Great Big Sea site. Love the band, great music. Listening to Fast as I Can the other day, I started thinking how cool it would be to learn to play the tin whistle. The part in this song just seemed to grab something in my mind. So, I think I've scanned the rest of the forum pretty well, but I couldn't find any of the info I'm looking for about the tin whistle parts in some Great Big Sea songs, though I HAVE read that the most popular key is D. I was wondering if anyone knew what key the whistle is in Fast as I Can and any other songs before I go out and buy one. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

Fast as I Can is in F, so I would use a C whistle. Playing it on an F would be too high, and you want to get the hang of things before trying low whistles. You should start out with a D, but getting a C, too, wouldn't hurt.

    I've been fiddle-farting around with whistle parts for GBS songs. I know for Boston and St. John's he Bob uses a low D whistle, but it sounds fine when played on a regular D whistle (only an octave higher than the recording) I believe the notes are E - F# - A - B - A - F# - E E - F# - A - B - A - High D- High E - High D - B - A - F# - E I think that is what I've got so far. Let me know if that sounds good or not.
