Greeting GBS aficionados! I am currently living in Aurora IL. I am a music teacher in two elementary schools. I know BioPhreak is a pretty odd member name, but its my gamertag on xBox Live and I figured it would be easy for me to remember. Feel free to hop in and play along in a Halo or Gears game with me. (Although I'm pretty terrible at both!)
I've been listening to GBS for a few years now. My friend introduced me to them one day and I got ahold of all the music I could be them. My addiction got bad fast! I began listening to them through my entire 6 hour shift at work, walking between classes at school, and even all night when I got home. They were literally the only band I listened to for about 6 months. Finally, I just saw them do 2 House of Blues shows in Chicago a month ago. It was the first (and second) time I've ever seen them. I lost it when they played Ordinary Day! WOW! Awesome band to see in concert. What really got me hooked on GBS was the ridiculous amounts of instruments each member plays! Being a music teacher I have experience with playing many many instruments. I'm always impressed to see someone able to play multiple instruments not only well, but play pretty darn well! I love the use of all different styles from Irish folk to Pop and back again!
Between all the CDs they have I can always find some songs to fit my mood! However, my all time favorite GBS song is Boston and St. John's. It is just a georgous song that never gets old. As you can see in a post I made, I'm trying to learn how to play along with a whistle. I recently purchased a set of Uilleann pipes, which is my current project at the moment. Not the easiest instrument to pick up and learn. Thanks!
I'd rather live an honest lifetime with those with nothing to lose, than waste a night knee deep in shite that's polished slick to look just right I'd rather live a lifetime in the
