Scott Grimes, Kevin Durand and Alan Doyle will play Will Scarlet, Little John and Alan A'Dale respectively, reports Empire. Grimes, best known as Dr Archie Morris in TV medical drama ER, will play Russell Crowe's nephew and expert archer Scarlet.

Durand will shortly be seen as The Blob in X-Men Origins: Wolverine while Doyle will hang up the microphone from his day job as lead singer of Canadian band Great Big Sea to make his acting debut. All three will join Crowe's Robin Hood and Cate Blanchett's Maid Marian on the Ridley Scott-directed epic, which is due to begin shooting in the UK this April.
