Pasta, Casseroles, and Other One-Dish Wonders

I haven't even MADE this yet - but I got tinned salmon ridiculously cheap, and thought that it would be awesome in a white sauce with wine-plumped sundried tomatoes, roasted garlic, and scallions over pasta.  But it needs one more thing to give it munch - what?  Cashews?  Mushrooms?  Water chestnuts?  Fresh fennel?  What is it my teeth are demanding be the defining ingredient of this dish?

I'd go with the mushrooms, myself. Slivered almonds could be nice tho.

How about capers and a vegetable which I can't decide upon just yet.

What about parsnips? I think I had parsnips with a fish once, and it was very good.

It needs something green, I think fennel  with a few of the fronds chopped fine as a garnish on top.

mermaidEverybody knows pasta's good with red sauce, white sauce, pe$to, or olive oil/garlic/parmesan.

But how about MERMAID style pasta?

Two 10-oz. packages of frozen chopped spinach (green as seaweed), and a half cup of bleu-and-pale cheese dressing.  Seriously!  Try it with chicken (of the sea or otherwise), sausage, or sauteed carrots/zucchini/mushrooms/onions.  It's awesome!
