As many as possible people wearing "OKP" on their shirts is a cool idea! They don't even have to look the same I guess - just say the magic three characters ... I'm currently working on one as well, kind of in the same look and feel as the new web site layout. I managed to get a license for the original typeface ... :o))

Maybe we could do a little brainstorm here to gather ideas how the different shirts could look like and what else could be on there ... like our boardname, flag of the country we come from ... whatever ...

Hey All! After seeing Frosty's youtube vid's from the last S&D, my husband and I were kicking ourselves for not knowing about it. Anyway, you can imagine my surprise to just learn about S&D V!!!   I'll be getting in line when they go on sale to the public in two days as it looks like I missed the pre-sale . I'm not missing this one. I thought I was psyched enough to see them in Buffalo in August! February can't come soon enough!

 What do I do on June 4th? Just go to the S&D site and book it? 

Hi Kath!  S&D III was a lot of fun, and this next cruise should be great too!  Glad you are joining us!  The pre-sale was only for returning cruiser unfortunately, but there should still be plenty of room when regular booking begins.  If it's anything like last year, they will ask you if someone referred you to the cruise, and then the referrer gets $100 on board credit, for drinks or whatever.  The way most people work this is they split the $100 if you use their name in the referral line.  I would be willing to do this if you want to use my name, theWoodpile4, as the referrer.  I would send you the $50 in a cheque form as soon as it shows up in my account, and I would be willing to help you with any questions you might have.  If you aren't able to get a room, or the room you want, you can always look for room mates on this board or the BNL board.  Good luck, and welcome aboard!

I just talked to Joy at Sixthman and confirmed what you need to do to book yourself in the pre-sale. You have to register a Sixthman username for you and your husband by midnight tonight so I hope you see this today! 

Anyway, there are no referrals during the pre-sale period, which doesn't end until the public sale begins on June 16th. I sent you a Private Message with all the details.

So what you're saying is, on the morning of June 4th, I might find that only the rooms are left are the $2000 ones (per person), and I'd rather split a more reasonably priced quad?... Are there already people who have pre-sale quad rooms looking for roomies?  I'm so excited right now, I can't even think Honest, I am beside myself. I think I need a glass of wine

You know what's funny Krista? I heard the public sale started June 4th too. I'm sure I read it somewhere. Anyway, turns out, I misunderstood the multi-tier pre-sale set up.

It's really a win-win for anyone who books using either of our referrals after June 16th. We're offering the same 50/50 deal (...as everybody else! ) Ya gotta love the anticipation and excitement about this cruise. I swear it got me through 60 days of frozen landscape last year!

UGH!  I forgot we have to got through winter before we get to cruise (blocked it out, the pain is too much!)  But you're right, there is a lot of anticipation for this cruise, and I'm sure it will be everything we hope and more!

The referral system is a great thing in my books.  Not that I'll get many referrals, but it would definitley help with the intoxication levels!  I will be staying far away from the casino this trip, that's for sure!

Hey, what's up with the whole business plan thing?  I'd love to hear about it, you never cease to amaze me with your uber creative writing, so I would imagine whatever you come up with would be equally amazing!

I love the excitement!  Yes there are people who are looking for room mates, but I'm sure you'll find something affordable on your own, maybe a little privacy for you and hubby?  I don't think you need to have hubby signed up on the board right away, as long as one of you have the pre-sale thingy, you can add him later.

As for packing.....less is more!  This is the BARENAKED cruise after all.  Just kidding, the only nudity I saw was during the naked photo.  Oh, and that time when.... Oh, then that other time... Well, I guess there is some nudity, but it's pretty discreet, lol!  I didn't end up wearing half the clothes I packed, but I did wish for more casual clothes than what I brought.  We also found the power bar we brought was a must have!  Definitely not enough plug-ins.  Good to have a small first aid kit, with band-aids, and polysporin and such.  Tylenol, and cold medicines!  More people caught the cruddy cold then I can count!  I packed in a way that made it easy to bring home souvenirs.  I put a small suitcase in a bigger one, and packed the small one and the space between the small and big one.  Then when I bought some stuff, I had two suitcases to bring home.  It was nice. 

Having a glass of wine while pondering the bliss that will be this cruise!  My favorite pastime, lol!!

With kids so keyed into technology/the computer/the web at pre-school age nowadays, I'm developing a proactive approach to fostering childhood literacy and reading online. The concept is in its infancy at the moment, so I can't say too much. I need to go after financing to see it through, so I'm learning to write a business plan.

The massive amount of work involved is a balancing act with motherhood and life, I am constantly overwhelmed by how little I can actually accomplish weekly.  As soon as I find a faster, better way to proceed I'm all over it!

I'm trying to keep my emotions in tact right now. All I can do is pray that I get a token or there are tickets left for the general public. Excitement doesn't even come close to what I feel right now. Hubby and I are giving up our life long dream trip to Ireland for this. I've been a GBS fan for 10 years and this will be my 11th time seeing them.

We haven't even discussed child care for our youngest son. He's 7. Do you think he would be okay if we just left him a note and told him we'd be back soon?

My oldest son has already been on 3 cruises and is on his way over here now to enlighten his mother on everything you need to know about a cruise ship and how to find your room when you're drunk.

Thanks for the helpful hints too.. Oh! before I forget, I've been doing a good deal of reading on the cruise site forums. People are talking about the show and zone they've picked and I have no clue what they're talking about.  Help?!

I can't wait to take my first excursion around the bay -- HEY!  :pumps fist in air:  

I love that idea!!  You can tell you have boys, lol!  My son loves the computer, but my daughter is rather indifferent.  Maybe it's a girl thing, or maybe it's just my daughter.  She loves to dance and play "mommy" with her dolls, and of course dress up is always a huge hit!  But boys have a harder time, generally, in the early learning years with reading and writing, mostly an attention thing I think, so this sounds like a great idea.

I hear you on the accomplishing very little thing, there are just not enough hours in the day!  I wish you the best of luck in writing your plan and procuring that cash!

Kath - Because BNL is the headline/host band, and the boat is filled with predominantly their fans, they're giving three headlining shows on the cruise. You have to pick show 1, 2 or 3 and a zone for your seating. Check out the zones on the "seating chart" links at the top of the pricing page I PMed you earlier. GBS shows will be GA.

Here's a tip too: The centre balcony seating isn't an actual overhanging balcony--it's raked floor seating in the back of the theatre. So, if you want central seating try the zones on the floor first!

You are funny Kath!

The show and zone thing is all about the Barenaked Ladies shows.  The last show is when they usually make announcements about whether or not they're planning another cruise, so that one books up quick.  There are three shows this year I think, and you will be asked which show you want to attend, and which zone you want to sit in, when you book your cruise.  You can look through the available seating for each show before you decide.  I don't know if you know, but there was something said about a limited seating show for GBS fans, something small and private, or some such.  Make sure you mark GBS as the reason you are on the cruise, there's a spot when you're entering your info during booking for you to do so.

Last year I remember people advertising that they would buy your BNL show tickets, as they wanted to go to all of the shows, and I declined.  I think I might sell mine this time.  I didn't even go to the show on the last cruise.  You get to see BNL in other shows on the lido and such anyway.

Now, let me just wrap my head around something here.....you have a 7 year old, and one old enough to tell you about drinking exploits?  Wow!  I just couldn't imagine.  Oh, I know!  Get the older one to look after the younger one!
