Good live music in TO pubs...?

I'm going to be in TO in a couple weeks, and I haven't hung out in the city for ten years. Can anyone recommend a few good pubs for live music. I like GBS Jester, indie folk/pop/rock/blues, classic rock, pop/rock, country/rock, celtic...and long walks off a short polson pier -- both cover and original tunes are cool with me if the band/musician rocks.

    Any ideas? Smiles

Nova Scotia is coming to Toronto, in more ways than one.

Harbourfront is hosting the first annual Nautical Festival with the Barra MacNeils and the Bluenose ll.

I got a billion things to do that weekend but I'd like to get together, Hugh's Room on Monday, at least.

Leaving NS to take in some NS culture in TO - why not! Angel My plans are still in flux for that weekend. Monday the 23rd is a sure thing though. I have my tix for Hugh's Room already.

Would love to see you there. May pop down to the waterfront festival on Saturday too...

    Hey Robin

Next Saturday I think I'm going to tour around during the day, perhaps pop down to the Toronto Nautical Festival (a nod to the weather gods), and find an irish pub with good live music in the evening. I followed your link to the Irish pub listings...whoa. Total overload. Angel  I'll probably stick with one I know unless I get persuaded otherwise by a savvy local. Smiles

Sunday's plan is not remarkably different than Saturday's so far.

Monday night at Hugh's Room may need to be revised, edited or completely re-written depending on what happens with this new contest. I'm 101% open to that! Angel

And that's all she wrote. Basically, this is my weekend to visit, have fun, and relax, so I want to do things I enjoy, laugh a lot, and relax as much as possible. That's what's at the core of my vacation planning, which is why it's so loosey-goosey! On Sat. and Mon. I'll be with my buddy Donna who is flexible and up for whatever. On Sunday, I hope to meet up with Cathie and perhaps a few others, if it happens.
