Here's an idea-just a thought really-yanno how when we are posting a comment on Alan's FTR or Bob's soundtrack, the post doesn't go up right away, but has to be screened before it's posted?  What if we had something like that for new threads-it would be a bit of a pain, but would prevent wildly glaringly obviously inappropriate new threads from being posted, and the posting of new threads that seem to be designed to start a flame war?  Or maybe such a thing could be imposed as a sanction upon those who insist on posting such things?

Good idea Sharn - in fact, there is someting like that, but not for all posts.

As you said, when someone insists on posting inappropriate material they should get "sanctioned" This is what happens if a member gets placed on "Moderation", which means one of the mods or admins must approve their post before it goes on the board.  It is placed "on hold" until it has been reviewed.  This only occurs if we have seen repeated inappropriate posts and have agreed that we need to monitor the content from a member.

I actually think this is a great idea... although, there would almost need a moderator whose job it would be to do it. Or a group of mods. Would make for quicker posts.
