So I'm listening to Love Me Tonight and must say that Great Big Sea seems to delving into the Adult Contemporary genre.  Not that it's a bad thing.  The song is catchy and would make a fantastic radio single.  I can think of numerous stations in Toronto/Southern Ontario where this song could fit into regular playlists.

i LOVE the new songs! the "march" near the end of "Here and Now" is brilliant. im not going to lie, i miss the more folk-sy stuff, but the more contemporary material so far has been inspired.
    it's not so bad.

Remember how on the DVD Alan is the one (almost) with the shortest hair? Haha

WOW!  What an intriguing track list!

    • 1. Love Me Tonight
    • 2. Walk On The Moon
    • 3. England
    • 4. Here and Now
    • 5. Long Lost Love
    • 6. Oh Yeah
    • 7. Banks of Newfoundland
    • 8. Dream to Live
    • 9. Company of Fools
    • 10. Hard Case
    • 11. Rocks of Merasheen
    • 12. Dance Dance
    • 13. Heart of Stone
    • 14. Straight to Hell

I have heard 8 of the 14 songs, but man!...the titles of the other 6 are piquing (sp?) my curiosity!

Check out the Liner notes in the Music Section!  It begins:

"We honestly can’t remember who played each track on each song. Somebody played the strumstick on "Banks of Newfoundland". We suspect it was Bob, but we can’t find it to dust for prints. Hawksley and Kris played the drums, but Alan swears some his can be found on "Oh Yeah". Sean figures he played guitar on several tracks but couldn’t, for the life of him, discern which ones."

     too funny!

    Angel

I love the representation of Lady Fortune on the player too!  She looks like some kind of Greek Goddess figure - my daughter tells me "Herra" is the goddess of Wisdom and Providence (good fortune).  I checked out James Mejia's website (the album artist) but I didn't find any GBS art work - yet.

    I'll echo Janeill's chant:  Pre-sale!  Pre-sale!  Pre-sale! Big Smile

Okay reading that track list makes me all giddy inside. *lol* Even though I know only those three songs they have up here on the homepage but all the same... The song names alone are great. *hehe*

Now they just have to come here to Europe to present the album... (*hasn't given up her wishful thinking*)

    Cheers

I like this photo overall, but is it just me, or does Sean not quite look like Sean in it??

    Hi Michele,

That's because the image was not shot all at the same time, 3 images were shot for that shot
and it was composed afterwards.  The scale of the bodies in real life would be different.  If you look at Sean,
and his shoulders, he should be a tad larger than Alan, but he's not. Alan's arm was never resting on Sean's shoulder, but it was made to look that way.  The light coming in the back door and window, and the floor was added in, and this effect is put on the first shot, so that it is the bottom most effect. Then Alan and Sean can be added in later, and it all looks very natural with the light on their feet, etc.  The only person in the room was probabally Bob when the original shot was taken, however it would have been easiter to just take the original shot with nobody in the room, and then add all the boys in later, and then adding the light on Bob's face is a task made even easier.  Lots of effect magic going on in that image Cool and that's what makes it cool.

This is all guesswork on my part, but I'd been doing stuff like this since 1979, so I know a few tricks winked

Interesting analysis, Frosty. I never would have thought of any of those things having been done in their photos. Makes me wonder what exactly they did do with this picture. It's more Sean's face, though, that doesn't look like him to me. I guess it must be the angle.

I do have to agree with Michele here. Didn't recognize Sean as Sean the first time I looked...

I agree entirely. I wasn't looking at it from a maniputaltion perspective. His face looks really ifferent there. Noticed it right AWAY.
