    Question about pre-sale

    Hi,

Tickets go on sale November 26th for the venue I want. Do I call the venue directly to buy them on the 26th? Or can I go through the website on the 11th and get tickets?

    Anybody know?

    Thanks,

    Jules

    Re: Question about pre-sale

And I have a semi-related question, too. How do I figure out the ticket prices? I really need to know how much these tickets are going to cost me before the day I try to buy them, so I know how many shows I can afford to see. (I'm hoping 3 - Stratford, London and Toronto.) So does anyone know where I can find out how much the tickets are going to cost at each of those three venues?

By the way, Jules, I think that the Canadian shows that go on sale on the 26th have their pre-sale on the 19th, I think, and that's through the website, but they haven't announced yet, so far as I know, which venues will be participating in the pre-sale. But don't quote me on that. Getting a second, better informed answer is probably a good idea.

You'll be able to purchase the tickets online sarting the 19th.
As for prices I'm sure they'll have more info on that for us soon. Big Grin

    Re: Question about pre-sale

I understood that an update was coming this week. That's probably when ticket price will be announced. And I think all pre-sale info is now available in the drop down menue under 'The Tour'.

    Re: Question about pre-sale

I still dont quite understand this pre-sale business. What areas are they for? I'd like to go in Fredericton and Moncton, NB. Can anyone tell me if these areas are in the pre-sale? Thanks!

    Re: Question about pre-sale

    Hello!

Tickets to many of the venues will be pre-sold before the public on-sale date. This means that you'll get tickets before they go on-sale to everyone else! Since the public on-sale has been split in two, one for the US dates and one for the Canada dates, the pre-sales will be split in two as well.

Please see the Best Seats Sale Pagefor more information. If you have specific questions, feel free to PM me and I'll get back to you as soon as I can!

    Cheers,

    Helen

    Re: Question about pre-sale

Thanks for the info Helen, I read it after I posted my question.

So as of right now, there is no pre-sale for Brantford and tickets are on sale Nov. 26th through the venue as I understand it.

    Re: Question about pre-sale

Mind if I jump in here, Helen?

All of the Canadian venues will be available for pre-sale on November 19th, is that correct? The only ones in question were US venues. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Smile (but if I am wrong, please don't tell BG. I've been trying to convince him that I'm NEVER wrong for the past 13 years! laugh

    Re: Question about pre-sale

If you look under the best seats sale in the tour section, the only ones showing for pre-sale are US venues. No Canadian ones are listed yet.

    Re: Question about pre-sale

Speaking of that I called Ticket Master and checked Ticket Master online, plus called the box office at the Living Arts Center because they don't use ticket master and well I'm a little confused question because neither seem to have Great Big Sea in there line up yet.... So either because of this web site we are all really ahead of the game or someone forgot to mention it to the Box Office.... This is causing me some worry because I have yet to get to see these guys live. I'm always in the wrong part of the country when there playing Frown Hence the reason I have had at least two panic attacks today because of this. Because I'm scheduled to be in New York when they're in Toronto (two words Vacation Day!!!) and I'm in New Brunswick when they 're in the States. If the presale in Canada is only 2 weeks away why wouldn't they box offices know ??

Has anyone been through this presale business before ?? If so PLEASE HELP !!

    Re: Question about pre-sale

If the pre-sales are done the way Blue Rodeo's are (and since it's the same community management company I imagine they would be) it will be done through GBS.com and not through the regular ticket agents. Which would be why Ticket Master, etc. don't know anything.

I've done the Blue Rodeo pre-sale thing twice now and have had no trouble whatsoever and ended up with amazing seats both times.

    Re: Question about pre-sale

Just to add to the excellent explanation that Melissa has posted.

Very often, TicketMaster only posts shows a few days before they are scheduled to go on sale. Also, a person at any given box office of a theatre doesn't know well in advance of sale dates who will be at their theatre. Sometimes they might know but cannot release that information until all the i's are dotted and t's are crossed.

    Re: Question about pre-sale

Thanks Melissa and Cathie -- you are correct.

We're going to be selling best seats for available US shows on Saturday, November 12th (this coming Saturday), and best seats for available shows in Canada the following Saturday, November 19th.

These are pre-sales, starting and ending before the public on-sales which are currently scheduled for November 19th (US), and November 26th (Canada).

We'll be updating the Best Seats Sale Page and Home Page with more information as it becomes available.

We should be able to confirm the available US shows tomorrow, including the ticket prices.
