    Your favorite artists

I'm interested in hearing about what other artists everyone likes besides Great Big Sea. Personally, my tastes range a lot.

    Favorite artists (besides GBS):

Green Day (Saw them live on July 17th, AMAZING!)
    Megadeth
    Linkin' Park
    Barenaked Ladies
    Sum 41
    Red Hot Chili Peppers

Basically from Newfoundland celtic/folk to thrash metal haha.

Only in the last couple of years have I figured out that the bands/singers I like are the ones who put their hearts into their singing.

    Todd Rundgren

    GBS

Tyrone Wells (new one one the list)

    Neil Young (and sometimes CS&N)

Never was a big fan of the Beatles, but then again I'm in my early 20's and I used to sometimes wake up to "Strawberry Fields" playing on the radio in the morning. I nearly took a hammer to it.

    Re: Your favorite artists

Bryck I like your pic!  It reminds me of the video for Sea of No Cares!

Personally I LOVE GBS. I listen to them almost all day.  They really help when I'm tired, worked up, excited, pretty much any mood.  I also really enjoy Colin Hay.  He's got a nice Irish accent and the album Going Somewhere is pretty chill.  I also tend to be all over the board:

    Rush!
    OAR
    Dispatch
    Bob Marley
Lately a lot of Classical and Baroque music (I'm teaching a music appreciation class)
    Renaissance Masses are also relaxing
    Matisyahu
    311
    Charlie Parker
    Coltrane

Mostly Hippie stuff, but I'll listen to pretty much anything

...and I enjoy James Taylor Frozen man is my FAV song by him (closely followed by You've Got A Friend)

I'd rather live an honest lifetime with those with nothing to lose, than waste a night knee deep in shite that's polished slick to look just right I'd rather live a lifetime in the

Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion

    Carolina Chocolate Drops

I recently saw a Dom Flemons solo show in New York. He's fantastic. I plan on dragging my friends out if he ever comes around here (though I think Rhiannon's done with her maternity leave, and they're back to touring as a band).
