Hey Chatters -

Just wanted to pop in and see how the new place is shaping up. Looks good in here, doesn't it? I can't take any of the credit. Since Helen and Lindsay_K have come on board, this place has never looked better!

You may also have noticed some changes at greatbigsea.com. While the website is still based on my design concept, after almost 10 years, I am no longer managing the site content, or fan mail. It is very strange to hand my work and passion over to a new team, but I appreciate the reason behind the transfer. The GBS website, while proving to be efficient for a very long time, has fallen behind in terms of technological advancement. I'm just not able to keep up with the new programming that puts a website at the top of its game... especially with the new online music industry - there's just too much going on that I neither have the time nor the interest to pursue. The GBS website needs a boost.

With that said, I am very excited to see what lies ahead for greatbigsea.com, and I will always be proud of what I was able to provide for the band since my very first contact with GBS and their management way back in February 1996.

And of course you, the fans, have been outstanding. You have always been like an extended family to me. I will never forget those of you who actually asked *ME* for my autograph at shows, who sent me cards when Andrew and I were married in 1998, and who sent the sweetest gifts and messages when our son was born in 2001.

There is a lot in store for me from here on. We are expecting our second child in June, and I am refocussing my business toward my true passion: interior design. Perhaps now that this door is closing, a new one will open.

So thank you all. I will still pop in here every so often, and please do keep in touch. I can no longer be reached through greatbigsea.com, but you can email me at joanne@indetail.ca - just to let me know how things are going.

You're going to be missed, Joanne. You'll be missed by all the fans who know you and you'll be missed by all the fans who never got a chance to know you and don't know what they're missing even while they're missing it. Most of all you'll be missed by the men of Great Big Sea. You've been the most faithful, loyal, and hard working advocate for those men for almost a decade and you've got all of my respect and admiration for that. You'll be missed badly by me too.

First, Thank you Joanne for such a good job during all those years. You patience and your hard work paid off both in good time and in bad. You will be miss indeed but since you are going towards your first passion it is a good end. I know you will be happy in that new direction and I wish you all the best.

Second, Congratulation on the second baby on the way! I remember seing the pictures of your first born and the second child will be as cute as the first one!

Although I was not one of the fans that "knew" you, as I have just come on board recently, I still appreciate all of the hard work you must have poured into this place for all those years.

Happy and Ariel said it all, and very well I might add. You will be missed.

Mozel Tov on the soon to be newest addition to your family! Having 3 of my own I can truly say it only gets better, if a tad harder, with each addition! The hardest job we'll ever love! Oy!
