Do you plan to come Kingston Ontario to put on a show. I would love to see Great Big C in my home town.

I'm really sorry, Charles. Great Big Sea played in Kingston just last week! (The 18th at the K-Rock Center).  You might try signing up for the newsletter so you know the next time they come through your area. :o)

Hi Bob,

Several months ago someone suggested I post this in your blog comments instead of in the forum.  So here it is...a bit late.  I originally posted this on June 26th.

"This starts out with an apology to Bob for invading his privacy.

Yesterday, I spotted Bob outside of my workplace at the corner of Bank and Sparks in Ottawa.  He was casually reading a paper around 9:45 am.  I was on a rather urgent errand to buy my wife a birthday present and I was not thinking of much else.  This would explain my rather blithering remarks when I stopped to introduce myself.  I mean, when you meet one of your musical heroes alone on a street when your not expecting to, what do you say?  Bob, I believe I am more intelligent than I sounded.  Nattering on about not winning passes to the secret show...soccer night for the kids...wife's birthday...great album, kids rocking out....  Then quickly hightailing it out of there on my errand.

Bob, if you read this, again, I am sorry.  Upon my return, I was going to let you know about something more interesting than soccer night, like my workplace, the Currency Museum Bank of Canada in the building right next to where you were sitting, but alas, you had left.

I know you will be back in town on July 11 for Bluesfest and I will be bringing my son to his first ever concert.  If you would like a normal conversation and tour of the museum feel free to contact me through the Museum. (original post had a link www.currencymuseum.ca)"

Cheers,

Gord Carter

Hi Bob,

Not sure if you recall the show you did earlier this year in March in Atlantic City, NJ at the House of Blues..  It was a small crowd only a few hundred people but the show itself was of course nothing short of amazing.

If you do recall anything from that day, I was the big *doofus* that stopped you coming out of bathroom to take a picture with my 12 year old son, Brandon.  Of course he knows every word to every one of the GBS songs and can recite them when asked politely or whenever he feels the need to do so.   The funny part about it was when I asked him if he would like to take a picture with you he said not a word...  I asked him if he introduced himself to you..  and again he said nothing...  Just a glazed look over his eyes..  I even asked him if he wanted to say anything to you at all, again...  glaze... It was rather funny and we still raz him about it to this day.

One question I do have though, the digital picture I took of the two of you, I want to print it, frame it and give it to him as a gift for Christmas.  Is there anywhere that I can send it to have you sign it and send it back to me so he can hang it in his room?

Thanks,

Steve Presti
