The Dakota Sessions

Set your VCRs/PVRs/TiVos - The Dakota Sessions taping, "Great Big Sea: Fortune's Favour", debuts on CMT at 8pm EDT this Sunday!

You might recall the guys playing an intimage gig at the Dakota Tavern in Toronto, ON, in June. In fact, a select few of you were lucky enough to be in attendance. Watch the guys performance through the camera lens and look out for yourself or fellow GBS fan during the show.

Is this CMT as in Canadian Music Television or CMT as in Country Music Television (in the US)? I was checking it out and can't see Dakota's sesseions. I'd love to see it though....

Canada CMT is different a company from the US CMT. One of their websites state this. So here in the US, we won't see it.

Does anyone know if the Canadian CMT will streamline the show?

I was there - drove from Providence, RI to see them and can't watch it on TV! I should have found a Canadian to record it for me. Better yet, I should just move to Canada! I hope those who see it find it enjoyable. Keep an eye out for the woman who decided the entire performance should revolve around her and her one-sided conversation with Alan. Come on! When you go to see GBS it's about them. I was appalled by the number of people in this tiny venue who talked through the songs and ignored instructions from both the band and the CMT crew. The boys did a great job as did the crew. Oh, and I'm curious to see if annoying woman #2 makes it in. She was so clueless that when she was "dancing" (read, bouncing up and down) she smacked Murray in the mouth with her beer and cut his lip. Despite all this it was a great trip and a great show.

Watched the show last night - recorded it on my PVR.
I would have preferred if the boys played more songs from FF. Only sang Here and Now, England, and Walk on the Moon.
The Dakota Tavern looked like a neat place - wish I'd been there.

They actually sang Love Me Tonight and Hard Case as well I guess they just didnt make it into the TV broadcast. The actual show with stopages for make-up and such was about an hour and a half so they would have had to cut some stuff. I haven't seen the broadcast yet so I don't know what else they cut.

Loved the show - however was it really only on for one hour?  We felt cheated - it seemed to end in "mid-air" - only ran from 8:00 to 9:00 p.m.
