My husband and I went to Maine for a little "get away from the kids" and stumbled upon the show in Freeport - AMAZING!  You now have 2 more fans in Columbus, Ohio.

The Freeport show was AMAZING!! My first show, although I've been following the music for a few years.  Thanks for the great Maine show and sharing your music with us!  I noticed a lot of people there who had never heard of GBS, including Eunice, the lovely lady next to me at the concert...she enjoyed the music just as much as I did.  Keep it up guys!

So glad to hear the show was a success in Freeport! I remember so many hot, sunny afternoons running around that small town!  I considered trying to make the show whilst visiting my Nana in Damriscotta and Pemaquid Point, but alas! Had to pass.  But look!  You have 2 new fans from here! (Columbus, OH) So I'm thinking that with these successful outdoor venues and the fact you've sold out Southern Theatre 2 yrs running, it's time to make a summer visit and move to the Lifestyles Pavilion.  ;o) (Although... that doesn't mean you should forego a spring visit to Southern!  From a purely altruistic standpoint, the above commenter Kate and her husband and kids should have every opportunity to see you guys... right? It has nothing to do with ME.... *adjusts halo*)

One wee editorial, Massachutes cannot claim the oldest city in North America, certianly not the USA. Jamestown Virginia was settled first, approximately 13 years earlier.

I know what you mean about having your own personal encyclopedia. I have a female Bob who is going to one of my roomates next year. I suggest that we clone them both and distribute them to the populus. We wouldn't need to waste paper making dictionaries that way.

I took Alan's comment about the oldest town in N.A. to be referring to St. Johns, not Cape Cod,  but I could be wrong.  I don't have the ability to Google Bob, but I'd like too!

Went to Maine last week for a 5 day get-a-way and to see my first GBS show.  Fantastic!  Audience participation my 80 year olds to 5 year olds.

My wife and my kids (11 and 16)were already big fans, now you own us.  My oldest used to dance to "Rant and Roar" as a child all the time and has slowly (as teenagers will do) drifted to mindless pop.  You guys pulled her back and opened her eyes to what music can be.  Thank you

You absolutely blew me away at the Freeport show.  I only went on the insistence of my 12 year old, and you now have gained another die-hard fan.  I had a blast dancing through the entire show with my kids.  Keep on kickin' out the amazing tunes and please, please come back to the Freeport area.  We'll be there!!!

Thank you, so much, Great Big Sea, for your music!  I live in Freeport and went to your show not knowing what to expect.  I absolutely LOVED it!  What energy!  What a great, well, vibe ('70's girl, here) -- everyone was having a grand time -  little kids right on up to the silver heads!  I jumped on Amazon and ordered a CD, it came yesterday and this morning I road to work listening to Courage & Patience & Grit (with a big smile on my face).  Please come back this way again!  Love you guys!!

Great show in Freeport! My husband and I are Newfoundlanders living in NB. When we heard GBS was going to be in Freeport we packed up the camper and headed on down, with our 3 kids and our other Newfie friends and their 2 kids. It was the highlight of our 5 day trip. The interpreter sure had her hands full (pardon the pun!)
with you guys!Hope to see you guys again soon.

When I first saw that you fine artists were going to be playing in Maine I was so upset because I was going to be in Canada that weekend. But then plans changed and we ended up making your show. It was amazing. Seing you folks play has just about completed my list of bands to see this year.  Any chance of doing a combo show with dropkick or floggin molly???? just wondering, that would make my day. But again thanks for an amazing show.

I was at the show in Northampton on Sunday and it was excellent. Not my first GBS show but it was the first for my new American wife, her 2 brothers and their cousin. I was the one in the crowd with the Newfoundland flag... waving it proudly, wishing I was up on the stage playing along on my bodran. My wife is from Northampton (lived in St. john's for 2 years) and we just moved to the area in June to start work and get married. No better way to end our honeymoon week than having a scuff in da pines at a lively show only Great Big Sea knows how to put off.
Thanks boys and keep coming to western Mass. I'm living in Albany NY and I'm sure you'd have no problem selling out out here as well. A decent celtic music scene here...no St. John's...but decent.

The last GBS show I got to was in 1998 or 1999 so I was most grateful that you played in Freeport.  It was my husbands' first time to hear you live, and now he knows why I like your music so much.  Also, the range in ages was fantastic!  We met a couple with 2 young children who knew all the words and we sat next to an older couple from CT but originally from Newfoundland.  Just fabulous!  I hope it will not be such a long time between live shows again!  Thank you for coming to Maine!

My son and I flew up to New England from Ft. Lauderdale for his 12th birthday to see the shows in Lowell and Freeport. We had not seen you guys live since my son was 3 years old, down in West Palm Beach. At that show my son brought his little guitar and danced and played while singing all the lyrics. At one point Alan picked him up and let him help sing the chorus of "Excursion around the bay". After the show all the guys signed his guitar. Our most recent trip was awesome! It was fun singing the lyrics to all the songs along side my son. After the Lowell show we waited by the bus and after about an hour Alan came out and was nice enough to take a picture with my son. I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for a memorable experience and to please come back to Florida because I can't afford to fly all over the country to see you guys.

Awesome show as always.  We had 6 adults and 5 kids (5 from Ontario, 4 from Portland, ME and 2 from NB) camped out by the sound table keeping Andy from getting thirsty!  It was the first show for the kids and they have made us promise it won't be the last.  Thanks to Alan for coming out after to sign autographs and take pictures.  I spoke to many people during my 7 hours staking out my real estate, that saw the boys shopping around town and appreciated that chance to talk to you guys!  Hope you made it to Gritty's and hope to see a show in Portland on the tour again soon with an open invite to JJ's pub!
