Congrats on the amazing week!! I am sure their will be many more coming your way. I am sad that I missed the show in Thunder Bay I bet the dude that streaked will never for get your concert!! Anyway I can't wait to see you guys play in London!! Although the ultimate place I wish I could see you perform would be in NEWFOUNDLAND Baby!! That would be the best night of my life! And to make it better it would be awesome to run into you guys at one of the pubs on george street and be able to share a drink with my favourite Band in the WHOLE WORLD!!

P.P.S Alan I just wanted to tell you that I think it is awesome what you are doing for Daffodil Place. It really touchs my heart because I had a cousin die when he was 15 yrs old from Cancer. And I have another cousin who has thankfully almost won the fight :)

"Festen - really heavy subject matter." I'll say! I took in the play and felt completely drained afterward. Of course I was thoroughly impressed with the acting and liked the vibe of the theatre.

Streaking. Interesting. I guess that someone wanted to let more than his hair down in North Country. Hope it wasn't too cold a night!

well sadly the one point i put my camera down last night
the streaker runs across stage
me and my cousin(going to her first concert)were pumped
i had emailed you early in the summer asking when you were heading to tbay cause i was upset i was missing your gander newfoundland concert and was pumped to see when i got back from the rock you were stopping here so i immediatly got tickets
the night before the concert me and my cousin made homemade tees
the front said gbs and the backs stated lyrics from a great song of yours.. the back of mine said "Drink 'er up b'ys" and hers said "its well after ten"
we cannot thank you enough for an amazing show like i said when i got home your the only band i could follow cross country and go to all your shows and never get sick of it. its always a blast
the first time i got to witness your amazing talents was in grandfalls newfoundland.
it makes me feel like home seeing you guys through rant and roar i held up a little towel that said newfoundland i wish i had brought my NL flag though. I took lots of photos and videos but due to my excitment all you can hear is singing and screams.
thanks again for an amazing night, sadly i wish i couldve got your autographs
cant wait till your around here again or ifi get to see you perform on the rock again

Hey you didn't suck tonight! For the record, you NEVER suck! I can't even explain how wonderful the concert was. I am the happiest I've ever been in my life when I'm GBS concerts. It was a really really great show. Even row 13 on the floor were jumping up and down, and that doesn't always happen at every concert. I had the time of my life. Thank you guys for giving me that.. again!

I took my niece (23) and son (12) to your concert tonight here in Winnipeg. I'm 48 so proof all ages love you guys. Neither had seen you before but both want to see you again. It was my son's first concert. He's 12 and doesn't like anything but he liked you guys. He never thought a concert would be like that (in a good way). He said he felt like it was the band and him and a few others because you guys pull us all into the show and make us all part of it and you forget there's an arena full of people with you. We're hoping to get floor seats next time you're in town. Tonight we were in section 330 but we were all jumping up and down just like the floor. Way to go guys I'm proud you are Canadian. Hockey is Canada's sport and Great Big Sea is Canada's band. Thanks for entertaining us. Your songs brighten any day. Thanks for all you do.

I just wanted to thank you guys for such a wonderful show in Winnipeg! It was my birthday present from my best friend since I have always wanted tosee you but managed to miss you at the free show in 1999, when you played at Bluesfest in Ottawa this year and all the shows in between because I was out of the country. I almost missed tonight but after running up two flights of stairs it was so great to finally relax! It might have been a rink, but you made it feel like a tiny pub!

Incredible show tonight, guys, totally incredible. Completely worth the 4 hours of driving and the ass dragging I'm going to be doing at work in a few hours. I've seen you guys many times and you just keep getting better! For the record, Brandon deserves you way more than Saskatoon does and would welcome you with open arms! Try and make a stop here soon. ;)

My son was so impressed that you did Chemical Worker's Song. He could not stop mentioning it on the drive home. And I loved Dream to Live, it's one of those songs that is great on CD, but touches your soul when seen live.

WOW!! What an amazing show last night. I think that had to be the most fun I have EVER had at a concert!!
My friend and I were on our feet the entire show and held back nothing as we danced to our favorite songs.
This was my second GBS concert, my first being years ago at WolfTrap in Virginia. I thought that was my favorite concert ever but last night topped it ten-fold.
I hope you all come back very soon!!

What an awesome show! My husband and I took our 10-year old daughter for her first show! She was screaming and dancing and clapping--we all were! Thanks to the boys for an unforgettable performance. Saw this tour at the Molson Amphitheatre in TO last July, but this time our seats were on the floor! It was amazing. I wish you could've played all night long and come back every night!

Amazing show in Thunder Bay!!! The one's I've been to have all been brilliant but this one was so much fun and I love how personable you guys are. I loved that you did the Chemical Worker's Song, it was so awesome! The streaker was definitely a memorable moment. Thanks for holding your composer as I was definitely having a hard time concentrating after that. You definitely helped me through the giggles.

A few songs in I jumped over the back of my chair to dance with the people behind me (for a while beside the crazy-drunk flag waving girls...that was interesting! You guys were amazing in Thunder Bay!! Thanks for such a great show. This was by FAE my favourite of any of your previous concerts. As I was sitting in the Loge seats I had a great view of the streaker, but missed his little shimmy at the end because I was watching you laughing on the stage floor. I'm glad you were able to make it through the rest of the show. Hopefully you'll remember TBay fondly - do our Persians balance out the streaker?

PS, we had with us one ten year old, one eight year old, and one four year old who all thought the streaker was part of your show.

Last night's show in the 'Peg was absolutely fantastic... 'freaking EPIC' as a good friend of mine described it. It was my fifth GBS concert and it certainly won't be my last. Don't wait so long to return to Winnipeg next time!
It was also the first time I'd heard 'Chemical Worker's' live. Thank you for including it in the set list. It has long been a favourite.

ps - Way to rock out the Zeppelin at the end. At the risk of scarilege, I prefer what I heard last night over the original. Kudos to Sean. You truly are rock stars!

A day with Great Big Sea in Winnipeg! My husband and I were one of the lucky few to see both you and Sean in the atrium (ha!) at one of the local radio stations before the show. Although we've loved you since your humble beginings - 15 years ago?! (can't believe it's been that long!)seeing you guys in such a close setting was wonderful. We have a new found appreciation for you and how humble you all are with your fame! Thanks for sharing stories about your loved ones back home. Yes Alan, even the penis story! ( ha! ha! ha!)

Hey there Alan. You guys played a wicked show. Unfortunately I missed the very last set because I ended up running out during Consequence Free. Although I left all my clothes in the 1st floor bathroom, it was well worth it. I grew up listening to you guys, and if you ever come back to Thunder Bay you can be sure that I'll make another appearance. Perhaps during "Run Run Away". There are a lot of videos of your Thunder Bay show on youtube, but I don't think the person who put them up would put the Consequence Free one online because of the nudity, but we've been in contact with him and hopefully he can make it available to myself, my friends, and you guys. Rock on.

Winnipeg was absolutely amazing last night. Well worth the two hour drive from Brandon (a lovely city if you ever want to stop there; I can't promise personalized guitar straps but I can promise friendly people and enthusiastic fans).

I don't know how to compliment a group that has probably already gotten way more compliments than they know what to do with. The traditional music is great and the music that blends traditional and pop is awesome. Your music also has a certain spirit and soul to it that I haven't heard anywhere else before - in any music genre.

The atmosphere last night was AMAZING! It didn't feel like an ice rink; it felt more like an intimate yet full-of-people party. And it was so neat to see people of such different age groups there; I saw a few families with toddlers and there was this old guy just rocking it out at the back on the floor! And your energy was awesome Alan - quite infectious.

Oh, and Alan, I think it would be an extremely difficult task for you to ever suck at a concert. Although I do appreciate your modesty.

I don't know what else to say except that, Alan, you're simply the sweetest, coolest, most awesome Newfie rock star I've ever seen!

Wow. Just... wow. I don't know how on earth to describe the Winnipeg show. It was indescribably amazing. It was my first time seeing you guys live and it was everything I was expecting and much, much more!! You played so many of my favourites (Ferryland Sealer, When I Am King, The River Driver, Mari-Mac, Love Me Tonight, Walk on the Moon, Dream to Live; I could go on!). I really appreciated The Chemical Worker's Song. The guys in the choir I sing in performed that one 2 years ago (when we toured to Newfoundland!) and that song has been particularly special to me ever since then. The energy you guys had was amazing; while the CDs are amazing it's so much better to actually be there feeling the vibe and surrounded by all the people. Me and 4 other friends were at the Oshawa Show last Saturday and needless to say it was as Awsome as everyone at the Tbay and Winnipeg shows are saying. I've been to 5 shows now and I think that was the most amped up crowd I've seen. (Ok maybe except for The Molson amiptheater shows).

I am seriously thinking about attending both the Windsor show and the Guelph Show (Guelph being my hometown) The minute I hear from my friends they can get the time off the tickets will be bought. Cause like everyone has been saying there is nothing like GBS live and in person. I just hope they don't wait to long to get back to me. lol.

Remembering drinking with you and Bob at teh Elephant & Castle last time you were through in 04. You never dissapoint. My wife and I get to every show you put on and we always say that the show was too short. "Wouldn't it be great if the Band just never ended?" YES! From one bodhranist to another Sean - you play that thing like a man possesed! Awesome. My son is 11 months old now and has been hearing teh sounds of my bodhran since before he was born...a born fan of GBS for sure! Come back to Winnipeg again soon for another show (or 3). Alan I did manage to get your pink friend on video Wednesday night,although we were on the mezzanine so we still leave an air of mystery about his dangly bits. You hear screams and who should appear but our friendly neighborhood nudist. As I'm not entirely computer savvy I'm not sure how to up or download this footage ( or inchage) to a viable site. I'll work on it though and let you know if and when I have sucessfully managed to get er done. If you like I could send you a disc with the video. Anyway as always, loved the show I've been to every concert in Thunder Bay you've put on.

Awesome AWESOME show in Thunder Bay. I always attend GBS when its in Thunder Bay and seriously - I have nothing to gain by saying this - IT IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN THE BEST CONCERT TO COME TO THE BAY!! You guys ROCK! I leave there feeling GREAT! Thank you so much. The streaker was awesome as well and he's made the paper twice now - Friday they told him to pick up his clothes...and Saturday they had your comments.

You know, if you're going further west to Alberta and BC, you could always stop in Winnipeg or Brandon on your way back to Newfoundland. :) I mean, both cities are right on the way, right on the number 1 highway. Or, you know, if you're flying home instead of bussing, you could always stop for the day or the night in Winnipeg. I mean, you'll probably have to have a stopover somewhere anyway. Just a friendly idea. (LOL - our licence plates say "friendly Manitoba.")

And the concert will probably sell out again. Most GBS fans wouldn't mind seeing you guys again in a couple months. I know I'd be there for sure.

Unless, of course, the prairies are too boring for ya. They're pretty flat, really; no rocks or crazy hills, twists, and turns on the highway. But people from outside of Manitoba do say that we have gorgeous sunsets........

I was at the concert in Wpg, 8th row on the floor. It was the best show ever. I saw your last concert here too, and will see the next I'm sure. After the last concert in Winnipeg I cryed, it made me home sick. I have not been home in over 10 years. This show I went with another Newfoundlander, who I met last year, she lives 2 blocks from me. Her family goes home ever year. We both had a great time. It was like a kitchen party with friends and of course good music.

I don't have family home any more but you guys reminded me that I need to take my 9 year old son and husband there.

The best concert ever! I have seen you all numerous times over the years, but this show really was the show to end all shows. Your sound and harmonies have really evolved over the years. I was so impressed to see alot of families there. I regret, that were unable to bring Simon, our six year old. Roy and I had a blast! Our throats were good and sore from screaming "Old Black Rum and Rant and Roar" for the encore. Thanks a million Allan. Hope you come back to Manitoba again soon!

I must say I am very impressed with the talent and demeanor of Great Big Sea. I have always liked your music but after seeing you in concert in Thunder Bay (my first GBS concert and only my second concert ever in my whole entire almost 30 years of my life) I am madly in love with your music, your band and everything about you guys. Your talent mesmerized me that night and has given me new hope for the future of music in Canada and North America. Oh, and the streaker has given me new hope for Thunder Bay!

Thank you for an awesome show and I hope to see you again...and again and again and again!

Man, Alan, you just can't stand still in a concert can you? Your energy was definitely infectious in the Peg. Your music is great on CD, but it's taken to an entirely new level when it's live. I'm with Rianna H., your Winnipeg concert (my first GBS concert) made me entirely fall in love with your music. Winnipeg was one of the funnest nights I've ever had in my life. It was worth driving the 200 km from Brandon; it would have even been worth driving much farther.

OMG!!! Hahaha I was at the show in Thunder Bay, First mezanine.. and I saw.. every bit that he had jiggled... I basically died!!!! That was the most.. hilarous thing.. Ive ever seen.. Kudos to you guys for keeping it together to finish the song!!!! Im glad you enjoyed it as much as we did.. You guys rock :)
