Everyone's Got A Story
Tuesday, March 01, 2011
A few weeks have come and gone since the nautical release of "Son of a Sailor". By all accounts it was an incredible success with many hundreds of people being turned away at the door of The Pearly King Pub (for this we apologize.......but who knew?). In his typical slacker fashion, McCann relied heavily upon the talents of others to sell his wares. From what I understand, much of the heavy lifting was done by show stealers Michelle Doyle and her handsome guitar man Trey. The entire band had to jump up in the end to save his sorry sailor ass from sinking. He's a son of a something all right.
But he survived, and now there is much talk about "Sean the Storyteller". Well we had another word for storyteller in the pound that I came from and I, for one, am getting tired of all McCann's BS. Truth be known, I am the real poet behind most of his best lines. Not that he ever gave me any credit or compensation. Just because I can't hold a pen doesn't mean I'm not a songwriter.
If Mr. Mc (I think I am Kristopherson) Cann is so friggin’ good, then I suggest we set him with a challenge: Everyone's got a Story. Send me yours in one page or less and I will use them to call McCann's bluff. I don't care what they are about. I only ask that they be your own. I will present the best tales to McCann at www.greatbigsean.com where you, the fans, can vote for your top five favourites. From these finalists Mr. Mc (thinks he's a Cartney) Cann will choose a winner and magically transform it into a song.
And that's not all.
To prove that he actually does his homework, we insist that Mr. Mc (my name's not really Johnny Cash) Cann record said masterpiece and put it up for sale on his website.
ALL PROFITS of said track will go to an animal charity of MY choice.
Sound good?
TOSH
